Pisses me off that they brew a beer like this but refuse to re-release Adoration. Damned shame.

The closest yellow beer acceptable for this season is a bock style. Anything else clearly is just nostalgia for warmer days gone by.

What Gose Round: Raspberry from Bickford Brewing Co.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A half finger fine white head on a cloudy dirty peach. The head diminishes to a thin layer.

Raspberry fruit in the nose. Tastes of fruit up front. Clean raspberry flavours. A moderate salt character. A sharp lactic sour finish.

A light body and good carbonation. True to the style. Overall a refreshing clean Gose

Finished the night with this one. Pretty good minus the mouthfeel.
Chocolate Hills: Hot Chocolate by Phase Three
16 oz can with an terrible stamping...10/22/...gibberish
Appearance is really pretty. Deepest brown, spent motor oil in color. Cocoa colored crown is thick and sticks around, initially 2 fingers but settles in at a consistent 1/2 inch. Great retention, layered lacing.
Aromas of chocolate, peanut butter abound. The hint of marshmallow is light.
Flavor follows the nose well but makes a bit more space for the marshmallow and creamy milk sugar.
Mouthfeel has some good qualities but lacks heft, a bit thin for style.

Bottle Logic FO: Maple 14% stout by Bottle Logic

Pour from bottle was dark black with a scant head. No lacing.

Aroma and nose are full of light maple flavor with background notes of vanilla. Despite the name, the maple is only lightly sweet and works well with the chocolate malt flavor. The bourbon barrel is very present and, though it isn't hot, it is felt.

Mouthfeel is heavy but not cloying and very light carbonation.

A delicious stout that's surprisingly restrained in flavor by the masters at Bottle Logic.

Jim Cuddy Harvest Red Ale from Fixed Gear Brewing Co

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A one finger off white head on a very slightly hazy dark amber. The head soon diminishes to a layer. Sheets of fine lacing.

Lightly toasted malts in the nose. The taste follows the nose. A bit of citrus. The flavour is somewhat subdued. A dry finish.

Medium body and carbonation. Overall a decent, easy drinking Red Ale.

Revolution Supermassive Café Deth BBA Imperial Oatmeal Stout (2024), 14.8% ABV. Pours moderately thick, with a one-finger medium-brown head that left an oily sheen. Aroma is strong coffee, bourbon, and chocolate. Taste is bourbon, coffee, chocolate and vanilla, slightly sweet, equally bitter, pleasant bourbon burn. Excellent thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

Like you, I had never rated / reviewed Storm King though I know I have had it a few times. I have just corrected that and I mostly agree with your review, though with two minor exceptions:
    • I am not getting much sweetness to counter the bitterness - this is a bold, bitter, roasty and hoppy beer
    • Your looks score is way too low for this beauty
    Cheers!

Hello NBW! It's been a busy weekend with a number of new beers. Finally have time to get one posted...

Maine Beer Co - Wolfe's Neck IPA

    3.87/5 rDev -6.3% | Average: 4.13
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 3.75
Beautiful looks, wonderful tropical/citrus scents, and a pleasant feel with prickly carbonation don't exactly combine to elevate this beer to outstanding levels. Flavor notes are somewhat muddied as this IPA struggles to find its identity. At times tropical at times earthy, the hop tastes repel each other instead of coming together in synergy. The culprit as usual IMO is Sabro. Kicking this hop out of the recipe and adding another would do Wolfe's Neck much good. All in all this is well made as you'd expect from MBC, but it doesn't quite meet this brewery's high standards.

    Last night's new beer:

    Reuben's Julebokk Winter Lager

Deep reddish-brown brown with amber-orange highlights, topped with frothy beige foam. The nose is sweet brown bread with lots of cardamom and a light fruity and floral character. The flavor starts off with bready, doughy malt that's a little sweeter than I enjoy. Cardamom is front and center, supported by notes of toasted brown bread, molasses, mixed berries, and floral hops. A mild earthy bitterness provides a little balance in the malty, spicy finish. Body is on the heavier side of medium, with a nice creamy texture. Overall, this is a pleasant and festive beer. You have to like cardamom to like Julebokk, 'cause it has a boatload of it. But I'd dial back the sweetness before I'd lower the spiciness.

New Trail x Warwick Farms - Golden Hour NEDIPA

From the mixed 12 pack which contains 4 excellent beers. New Trail is raising their game again with the help of regional cooperation

This is an interesting NEDIPA collab. Average looks and residual lacing, no issues here. A minimal head stays put as it goes down the glass. Sweet fruit candy scents are prevalent and lead directly to the palate. This beer is a fruit bowl in hop form that maintains a sweeter edge with hints of resin and light bitterness as the experience goes forward. It is definitely on the thin side for an 8.5% ABV NEDIPA, but this isn't necessarily detracting. Very drinkable and disappears quickly. Overall a treat of a big hazy with a quirky nature at times, but worthy of a hazy lover's attention.

Maybe some of you are getting tired of my Treehouse new hazy reviews, but I'm not. Today I'm starting with the 7.7% Treasures Of The Deep. If you can read the can in the picture, this is a TH experiment with English Pearl Hops which are know for their breadiness.

Purchased cold ten days ago at Charlton in a mix-case, but it is priced at $20.00/4-pack. Kept cold until severed. Poured to a pretentious tulip-like glass from the 16oz stamped “STEINBECK 10.29.25”.
The body pours out an opaque hazy with a light orange hue. Color is approximately SRM 4. The head is white, and large but fades to a single layer with a ring against the glass. Lacing aggressive on glass tilt, cover almost 90%, but sliding back to 40% in about 5-seconds.
The aroma is mild and of sweet citrus and fresh bread (bit of a surprise in a hazy).
The taste is a little spicy in the front, orange rind in the middle and a bit of an alcoholic finish. Unlike most TH hazys this actually has a noted malt background.
Mouthfeel is lightly creamy but carbonation battles it.
Overall-The writing on the can implies that this is an experiment. I think this malt differentiates this beer from other TH hazy beers in a nice departure.

Good Sunday afternoon, New Beer Samplers and commentators. While beer shopping yesterday I ran across a DIPA collaboration between Imprint Beer Co. (outside Philadelphia) and District 96 Beer Factory (Rockland County, NY). D96 is one of my favorite breweries. Although it's less than an hour from my house, it doesn't ship cans to our area. So, I jump at any chance to drink its beer. Apparently, this is an annual collaboration - not a one-off, and this ale has been reviewed by some BA heavy hitters, including @jzeilinger and @Braunmeister_1943. It is hopped with Citra, Cashmere, and Vic Secret. The cans aren't dated but I checked Imprint Beer's website and it appears they are about 3.5 weeks. old.

It pours a murky, muddy tangerine color with a big, fluffy, milk-white head and sheen of lacing. The fruity nose features lemon, grapefruit, and whiffs of pineapple and oats. Its taste is primarily tart lemon and lime peel and grapefruit rind with some sweeter tropical fruit notes. The Cashmere hops provide an earthy, herbal background and there is also a hint of pine sap. It's refreshing and drinks quite easily for the 8.4% ABV.

It doesn't have D96's "snakefruit" taste and may be closer to an Imprint IPA. Imprint is on my "to do" list of brewery visits. It is a very solid DIPA.

Good afternoon NBS/nbw and thanks @Victory_Sabre1973 for the kick off this weekend.
We continue with the kitchen remodel here, all rough inspections happened this week, so now things will be getting closed up. Project is still on schedule and no suprises yet.
Todays offering is from Berkshire brewing, and in full disclosure I have had some earlier in the week. A really fun and flavorful "Mexican style Stout" not sure about that as a style, but it sure is tasty!
    Cheers everyone

Poured from a 16 oz can dated "Born on" 10/22/2025, into the test glass.
A - Dark brown heaed toward black in color, excellent tan frothy cap, stays the entire time. Lacing is a work of art.
S - Chilies, and cinnamon up front, with some warming the chocolate and some char rise up.
T - All those aromatics with emphasis on the tension between the adjuncts is quite fun. There is an espresso thread in there as well
M - Medium in body with just a bit of heat from the chilies, the offering itself avoids the sweet trap and finishes beautifully dry.
O - A really fun well executed Mexican style stout. Full of flavor, alcohol is well hidden. The combination and execution are excellent

Happy weekend beer friends, a long busy one here. Managed to get a lot done this AM.

Today’s beer comes courtesy of pops who goes to PA to see his lady friend. Big beer store he goes to and he always offers to grab stuff if I’m interested, lucky me. Well this one is only in PA for now but super excited about Troëgs making this beer for distribution; a classic American lager, all malt and dedication mashed, $10.50 a six pack. Here we go…

Troegs - Pennsylvania Lager (American Lager 5%)

Pours crystal clear; vibrant gold, white cohesive head, collapses to create a thick sticky cap, notable lacing; this is a looker.

Nose is beautifully malty; little bread and dough, toasted cereal and grain; delicate herbal hops.

Tastes is bread like pale malt; fresh baked and rich; cereal; balanced classic hop character; lightly grassy, herbal and earthy.

Body is just delightful, light but complex; it’s got depth and richness but goes down so smooth and easy; creamy and clean with a nice low punch of hop bitterness on the finish.

This is a very good beer IMO; props to Troegs for making such a great one and adding it to their year round rotation. Sunshine pils is one of my favorite beers ever, this is right up there in quality.

Again just a huge win with this beer being added to their lineup; go buy it.

    ———————-

Alright, that’s it for me, so many good beers this time of year, let’s all rejoice. See you all again next weekend I hope, have a great week.
