ONly beer for tonight, since holiday vacation ends and back to the grind tomorrow. This is Tired Hands and their Trendler Alt a 5% altbier out of Pennsylvania.

    onto my review:

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my 0.5L dimple mug. Date stamp is 11/20/2025. Picked up at local beer store while in PA over the Holidays.
The beer pours a clear copper hue with a large fluffy yet dense khaki colored head of 3 cm. This foam slowly fades to a sturdy and sticky surface covering on my glass. Lots of windowpane lacing on the sides of the glass. A few lazy streams of carbonation rise to the surface.
Aroma is some grainy brown bread and light toasted caramel, maybe a little nutty, like a walnut. Not much hop character and overall the nose is kinda mild.
First sip reveals a light to medium body with smooth texture and very fine and tingly carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose advertisements, with toasted caramel and again some walnut nut flavor with some crust of brown bread. Here there is some black tea bite, which I attribute to hops and also drying on the finish. This is a very drinkable beer that I am enjoying, its malt forward but finishes with some balance. never any hint of the ABV, which is of course low. Id gladly drink another can.

Well, it’s a very long story, but the cliff notes are:
It’s a companion of our daughter (the plastic skeleton) that amuses her to dress it in different Halloween costumes.
    The skeleton is called Ethel.
My question is why it’s not in her car keeping her company during the commute.

This is likely my only new beer this weekend. Massive Gravity from Ecliptic Brewing in Oregon. A straight up imperial stout. 10% ABV.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours black with about an inch of light brown head. The nose is chocolate, toffee, brown sugar, coffee, and dark roasted malts. Nothing too crazy here.

The taste is really nice. Dark roasted malts, brown sugar, coffee, black licorice, blackberries, raisins, dark chocolate, biscuits, and burnt toffee. Some oaky bitterness is there too.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertaste is dark coffee and chocolate. Nice overall.

Capping the evening with another one from the esteemed @Ozzylizard
I love Revolution but this is my first time with...
    Vanilla Deth

Pours a deep, dark burnt leather. Bright light shows a glimmer of amber tinge to the extreme edge. Khaki colored head forms a solid, nearly 2 inch, head that hovers for a minute and slowly settles in at a filmy ring. Scattered splotches of lacing.
Nose pumps caramel, Bourbon, cocoa, vanilla and some char. Really an elegant delivery of these aromas.
Flavor is very aligned to the nose. The cocoa, vanilla, and char really move in synch. The vanilla level is definitely there but not overpowering. (Caveat: I don't like strong vanilla). I like this one a lot.
Mouthfeel is medium, carbonation level is just active enough to keep it alive, and feels almost creamy.

New beer to me/ new beer to BA. Coronado Brewing's latest: Tiki's Pineapple Hazy IPA. Just uploaded the info today. Gotta say this one delivers exactly as described on the can. Pineapple-forward hazy without fake chemical additive characteristics. Ya, I rated it highly in my review, (4.75, 4.25, 4.5,4.0, and 4.25 overall) largely because it delivered as promised.

I don't think it is either - the further I got into it the more it seemed like a mish mosh of porter, old ale, maybe even a little barleywine. Very different.

And not because it's heavy or hard to drink - just to let the flavors unwrap themselves.
