This beer finished me off last night, Eagle Park Fuzz Lord:
Appearance: Very dark brown, has a small head but fizzes like a soda and disappears.

Smell: Booze, apricot/candied fruit, sugar. Oh, it’s actually peach from the peach brandy barrels, not apricot.

Taste: Some sweetness, then a big hit of booze (it is 17.5%), then a kind of peachy, caramel mixture, mixed with alcohol. Finishes with booze coming out my nose. When it warms up some, the peach comes through a little stronger but still hot from the alcohol.

Overall: This is a bourbon barrel aged, then peach brandy barrel aged, 17.5% barleywine. It comes in about the perfect package for a 17.5% beer, a 7.5oz can. Canned 11/21/2025. It’s an interesting experience, definitely improves as it warms up.

    Thanks @cheeseheadinMinneapolis again.

Borraccia from Fixed Gear Brewing Co.

The first review for this one. It's not new. Just new to BA

From a 473ml can packaged on 12 Nov 2025. Poured into a pokal. A one finger fine white head on a clear straw. Good head retention. Rings of fine lacing.

Grainy, grassy malts with some noble hops in the nose. The taste is sweet cereal malts up front with a clean, dry, mild noble hop finish.

A clean and smooth mouthfeel. A light body and good carbonation. Overall a fine Italian Pilsner. Light and refreshing. Well worth a try.

    Good afternoon NBW
I'm going light on my NBW selections today. It's a real statement on where craft is headed when 3F starts putting out 12 packs of lime flavored light lager.

    Floyds Deluxe Lime Lager

12oz bottle lazer etched BOTTLED 03-25-26 poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 4.5% ABV per label. The beer pours bright pale golden yellow with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Minimal lacing. The aroma is mild with lime at the forefront and a hint of pale malt. The taste is semisweet with lime and 2-row malt. Clean with minimal bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Cleanly lagered. Overall, very good AAL.

    Cheers all

    Mad Anthoy Honey Cream Ale

16oz can Packaged 02/09/2026 poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 5.2% ABV 12 IBU per label. The beer pours mostly bright very light yellow amber with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. The aroma is mild with just a hint of pale malt and corn grits. The taste is semisweet light malt with a hint of corn and honey sweetness. Some very light herbal/earthy hop notes and mild bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good cream ale. Clean with no off notes that could be masked by this light of a beer.

    Cheers all!

Hey there, NBW. I finally got around to trying out a new beer and very glad I did. I wasn't expecting much from this one that has languished at the back of the fridge since Christmas time, but it hit exactly right on what might be the last cool day for quite some time.

Looking forward to catching up on the thread this afternoon.

    Druthers Toys for Toga 2025
    6.7% Winter Warmer

Pours a reddish amber with a two-finger tan head.

Wonderful aromas of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, raisons, and blackberries.

The taste is even better, with most of the aromas ramped up plus some new ones. I get caramel, molasses, burnt sugar, raisons, prunes, and some cinnamon all over a base of fresh brown bread. Coming in at the middle and building through the finish, earthy and peppery hop bitterness keeps this from becoming too sweet and cloying.

Medium to medium-light bodied with fine carb gives a fairly frothy feel. Finishes slightly sticky but as noted above not too sweet.

Overall, fantastic winter warmer. Big and bold flavors that hit all the right notes for the style. The earthy and peppery hops complement so well and help reset the palate for each sip.

Purchased cold at a store 10-days ago and kept cold until served. Poured from a 16oz can dated 03/10/26 to a tall cylindrical “Pilsner-esqe” glass.
A large white head forms about 2in/50mm. That fades to a ring and a thin surface layer in about 5- minutes. Lacing is moderate to low. The light golden body (SRM 1 or 2) is crystal clear with continuous nucleation visible.
The initial smell is like fresh kneaded bread dough. Gradually some mild citrus aromas sneak in.
The taste is clean with a very lager-like front, and a crisp finish that almost has a citrus hint.
The light mouthfeel is light with subtle oiliness.. Carbonation is appropriate.
I'd be very happy with this fishing or mowing.

Lindemans Pechersse Fruit Lambic, 2.5% ABV; 4.09 overall

Pours a sparkling gold with one finger of cream-colored head. Minimal head retention & lacing, stays effervescent throughout the pour

S.: Peach blossoms & preserves, dials back a little once warmer

T: Sweet peaches, a little dryness & grassyness, a little acidity & tartness up front. Sweet peaches & a little bit of tartness once warmed up. Finishes peachy with some dryness & faint tartness & trace amounts of leafy hops

MF: Light bodied, delicate carbonation, a little stickyness on the teeth

Very easy to drink, the flavor seems natural

Good Sunday afternoon, New Beer Samplers and commentators. Time certainly passes quickly. It was 10 years ago this month that I was wowed by a collaboration between Carton and Other Half called All Orange Everything. Orange is Carton's color of choice and the the DIPA paid homage to OH's All Green Everything except that the flavor emphasized orange/tangerine. I believe the original hop bill included Mosaic, Mandarina Bavaria, and Waimea hops, and orange zest. Since 2016, Carton and OH have released variants of All Orange Everything with different recipes.

All Orange Everything 2026 is a West Coast style DIPA hopped with Citra, Krush, and Tangier. It has an orange soda pop vibe and is very well crafted - as might be expected since Carton and Other Half work well together.

Reviewed 6 days after canning. It pours a clear, golden honey color with more than a finger cap of fluffy, bright white foam and a heavy sheen of lacing. A robust, fruity nose featuring grapefruit, lemon, lime, tangerine, red berry, and some sweet tropical fruit I cannot identify. The taste pops with bright orange/tangerine that is sweet but well-balanced by tart grapefruit, lemon, and lime, as well as some pine sap. As the ale breathes in the glass there are other sweet notes, including peach and ripe honeydew. The flavors are all vivid. There is mild (20 IBU), clean hop bitterness throughout. For a Double IPA it has a fairly lite, crisp mouth feel, and the 8.5% ABV doesn't distract. It is very easy to drink. Overall, I really like this iteration of All Orange Everything. Like its predecessors it emphasizes orange through the hop bill. Brewing it as a West Coast DIPA is inspired.

Distinctively sam'l smith smell: danky Yorkshire yeast? Beautiful cherry tart sweetness.... slightly cardboardy, but I bet it mellows out as it warms...BB date is New Year's Eve of this year
Feels a little sticky in my mouth area, which reminds me of artificial sweetener... It's there in the flavor too. Had the lindemans kriek recently and feel it's a better bang, buck aside.
This comes off as a little too juicy and sheltered as apposed to a wilder kriek... Which is weird since it's 'organic.'
I doubt I'll buy it again without a little nip on the side. The lindemans at least had some funk which made it worthy of a standaloner

Martin House Brewing King of the Mountain ( 2026 ) Hot Chocolate inspired Porter, 6.0% ABV; 3.49 overall

Pours an effervescent chestnut with rapidly disappearing tan head. Zero head retention & lacing

S: Cocoa & marshmallow, not any beer smells, maybe a little smokeyness

T: Cocoa, a little marshmallow & a touch of iron up front, plus some roasty notes. More sweetness, cocoa & marshmallow, & that's about as this beer warms up. Finishes sweet & a little dry

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, body thins once this beer is warmer

Nails the target, but nothing I'd ever buy again, drinkability is okay at best

    Hydra Hostility
    6.5% fruited smoothie sour

On the can says it is a "Mythical collaboration between Ill Will and Mortalis."

Poured from a pint can, the body oozes out and is a cantaloupe orange. Neither head nor lacing.

Aroma is cantaloupe and banana. Taste follows nose. The fruit flavor taste adds a bit of pineapple which works well with the other flavors. With all the fruit flavors present, the flavor is not too sweet. There is no bitterness, so things dry up at finish with a trace of sour at the end.

Mouthfeel is smooth, a bit heavy, and no carbonation.

This is an odd duck of a beer. Throwing aside preconceptions, this drink also is a super tasty beverage. I'll have to read up on the style to consider a rating as the sour aspect was quite minimal.

I didn't think I was going to have any new beers this weekend...but a trip to Saint Arnold this afternoon changed that

I was excited to come across this one...

Tmavé Pivo, 5% ABV, a Czech Dark Lager.

Pours a dark black, not opaque as it has some brown/ruby around the edges. A dense beige head forms with excellent retention and lacing left behind. This is a looker.
Aroma is toasted malts, baked bread, and light roast. Simple, very nice, and spit on.
Taste wise, there is more nuance here. That toasted malts, beaked bread flavor is very apparent. Some coffee from the light roast, and a bitter dark bakers chocolate flavor lingering. Nothing out shines anything else, and its just really well done.
A medium body with a crisp effervescent bite up front. That becomes wonderfully smooth as this breaths, and I love the clean dry finish. Which all leads to something very easy to drink...in big gulps I might add. I can come back to this all day.

I love the malt character here. Which is incredibly balanced, nuanced and just moreish. I great dark lager, and example of the style, that I will drink whenever I see it available.

Overall score is 4.19, easy A- and I can see myself upping the score on another try.

    Next up is...

Semi Southern Hemi Pale Ale with New Zealand hops. 4.2% ABV.

Pours a pale yellow color, with a very slight haze. About a finger of a white cap forms, but recedes. Which does leave some light lace behind.
A surprisingly big and dank aroma up front. Which then leads to that distinctive grape which bursts out, along with some berries and melon. A big fruit salad that I really enjoy.
Taste wise, like the nose, all the grape, berry, and melon fruit medley is there. Though it fades a bit quickly. There is a cereal grain flavor and light bitterness lingering.
A light body with a kind of "soft" carbonation. This could definitely be more crisp for me. Though it is very easy to drink and come back to.

I have a couple of slight quibbles with this one. I would like more bitterness in the finish, and more effervescent/crisp carbonation. Otherwise, is a very fine New Zealand hopped low ABV pale ale. And even with my slight quibbles, I can easily have more of this.

    Overall score is 3.92, B+
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/337/797010/?ba=champ103#lists

    Good evening all! Happy NBS!
I picked up this one for a couple reasons - First, I try every ESB I can find. Second, Years ago during a particularly British mystery season I began looking for the beer. (What was the beer that was served the person who walked up to the publican and asked for the “bitter”)
I tried to find out. Annoyingly, it is a rare style to find. But I digress. Again. The beer is labeled as an ESB so I had to try it.
The pour is copper colored, transparent with a reasonable 1” light beige head that left rings of lacing.
The taste isn’t what I expected but it is very nice. Soft almost buttery malts with butterscotch highlights. The honey and lavender are definitely present and work well with the malt flavors.
The feel is again, soft, which flies in the face of the style name. Or maybe just my expectations for the style.
    OA, I don’t know it’s a good ESB but it’s a very good beer.
I’ll be back later with a wheat wine. Couldn’t find a new to me barleywine.
    Cheers!
