Do you drink more once, and move onto the next, or find stuff you like and rotate those? I tend to drink familiar six packs stocked up, but buy bombers once and move on. What about u guys?

There is definitely a few beers I will always have on hand, But I love trying new beers. I will usually hit a shop and buy a few new and a few old.

It depends. If I'm going to relax and watch a movie or read a book I'll seek out something unusual or new. If I've just worked a double and want a beer I'll grab a reliable favorite. Blessedly since I live in Chicago that reliable favorite is Daisy Cutter.

Familiar six packs rotating and occasionally I'll be a beer snob and buy something special.

I live in Baltimore. So it's usually old Stand By's and Seasonal Releases. I will try a New Brew out from a Trusted Brewery. Except for NBS, I'll grab something I've never had and give the brew an honest shake.

I drink a good mix of both, I am a bit of a ticker, but if I love a beer I'll continue to go back to it.

It is hard for me to stop buying new beers that I want to try since I live in a region with abundant breweries and beer variety! I revisit favorites and go back for beers I loved and want to share with others.

I used to drink beers I'm familiar with, but lately I've become addicted to trying new stuff. I like reviewing new beers but sometimes I just want to have a beer and I think reviewing can be a lot of work if you want to give a good review. I'm getting close to hitting 500 beers and after that I'm going to take a break from reviewing and enjoy some beers I like to drink.

I'd say it's 60/50 for me. I love trying new beers!

Now.. To this ticker word that I've seen popping up the last couple of days.. What is it's meaning? For example, I'm a ticking time bomb waiting impatiently for my next new purchase? Or purchase in general?

I'll pick up favorites as stock beer and I try to review 5 new beers per week.

usually familiar beers so i wont be disappointed, unless someone suggests something to me or reviews on this site spark my interest. "tropical/juicy/citrus" reviews usually lead me to try a new beer.

BUT to my first point: nothing is worse than coming home after a long, stressful day of work, stopping at the liquor store, getting something new, then being disappointed by it, or even hating it.

Probably about 70/30 regular to new.
I like to try new beers as often as I can but I don't constantly seek them out.
Fortunately in S.W. Michigan there is an ample supply of tried and trues, as well as plenty of opportunity for trying new.

Usually new. That said I will usually have plenty of Abita, DuClaw, and Schlenkerla around the house.

50/50 for me. Most of the time I go to the beer store I pick up something I know I enjoy regularly and the another beer selection that I'm curious about.

I always buy beers I am familiar with. I am also a huge ticker when it comes to our local tasting events. Those tasting events will also add to my buy list. As for drinking I attend quite a few tasting events so would guess my actual beer drinking is close to 50/50 on familiar vs new.

I try to have a few new beers every week when possible, the rest are proven beers that I like such as Breakfast Stout or a good milk stout.
