Is this a normal can code for Voodoo Ranger? Just seems odd to me that it appears to have a BB date instead of a canning date, which seems to be the norm in the USA. If this is normal, can anyone tell me when this was canned from the code?

    10 month life ? Gotta be a mistake. That's a canned on date...of 2019. Oh, you're in Germany.

You reckon that they label these cans differently for export purposes directly at the brewery? Now that I think about it, I've noticed that with Sierra Nevada bottles as well, one-year best-by date from what I can tell.

I thought the European Union requirement was "best by". I feel like i've seen Orvals, for example, with a date several years in the future. don't have one handy but I am vaguely remembering 2021 on one I had a few moths ago.

For imports, the importer usually just slaps a sticker with a best-by date on there. It's pretty rare for breweries to label their beer differently for export purposes, but some of the biggers ones, like Sierra Nevada and Founders do it.

Orval does indeed set their best-by dates for 5 years.
