New Belgium Heavy Melon

    Saw a 6pack at the store today and passed on it because the beer guy said it wasn't that good. He likes other melon beers so I took has word for it, theres too much beer to try and not enough money for it all to take a chance!

    I was underwhelmed by Citradelic but loved Side Trip, so I'll definitely give it a shot.

    So I tried 21stA hell or high and love it. Super light, refreshing and the light bready melon flavor. If I'm a fan of hell or high, would I be a fan of this? Debating whether I want to grab a single or a 6 lol. Like others, the lime is throwing me for a loop

    I've only seen it in 12 packs, but it's a decent summer beer. Might be a tad on the watery side, but you can drink it all day long.

    Tried it. Tasted like lime-flavored seltzer water that a watermelon Jolly Rancher had been dissolved in. Not good.

    I have tried this one and both me and the wife did not like it at all. It was a real chore to work through the 6 pack purchased. She left me with most of the work on that! It was not quite a drain pour but damn close. Has a very strange, and quite nasty, odor that permeates into the tasting of the beer. Not pleasant at all.

    I finally got my hands on a single. It's drinkable and very light. There was a lack of flavor, it tasted like someone poured an actual watermelon beer over ice and let the ice melt. Barely tasted watermelon and was relatively bland. They should re-work this brew with more watermelon a little sweeter and bump the IBU up by 15. It wasn't THAT bad, but I will not revisit this brew.

    New Belgium has made great new beers the past few years.
    Really loved that Portage Porter.
