Just a heads up, 6-packs of this brew is being recalled in Wisconsin area. Not sure if it is elsewhere too, code under fresh date starts with a 130, it is infected. Distributors are already going store to store taking it out

Infected how? I tried it and found it slightly sour, but I assume it's supposed to be that way with the cranberry aspect.

I bought a 6er of these a month ago in Iowa and thought there was something odd about them. Now you got me curious.

Not sure what they mean by infected. Just what they told us and took them away. Just thought I should give a heads up.

They'll relabel with cranberries underlined. It'll rehit the shelves very soon.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, doesn't New Belgium flash pasteurize their beers? It may not be all their beers but they certainly have the capability. If it is that they pasteurize all their beers, this infection claim is certainly a head scratcher.

No idea on the pasteurization comment, but it could also be recalled for labeling issues and such. Just a thought.

They came by the store today and picked up four cases. Heard something about being two years out of date. Was the actual new belgium guys not local distributor guys

Kick, a similar precursor to Pumpkick, came out a couple years ago but I believe this is the first year for Pumpkick. These stories keep getting stranger and stranger.

Not doubting your claims but I am curious how a beer that has never been made before this year is 2 years out of date already?

What about kegs? I've had it twice at a local brewery and both times it tasted sour, the bartender said they may just need to clean the lines.

The official NB description does contain the word "tartness".....

"What’s that bite of tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but it's the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your taste buds sailing"

I believe they centrifuge, not pasteurize. At least I recall hearing that from a rep of theirs a year or so ago.

Had the beer a couple days ago and it was a bit tart. My overall impression was that it sucked, not in an infected way though, just kinda sucked
