I tried New Belgian's new IPA, which the bottle helpfully informed me was brewed with "spice." Overall I thought it was a big step up from any of NB's other IPA's, with vibrant pine and citrus flavors. I also noted what I took to be the aroma of lemongrass, leading me to believe that is the "spice." Your thoughts?

P.S. the Voodoo Ranger Pale Ale was also worth a try.

I've been waiting to hear feedback on it. Heard there were changes to the recipe. Package is fly tho

Some of the feedback I am seeing is very positive. A lot of likes. I saw this last week and passed but will get a few this weekend to try out.

I almost bought a six-pack of the Imperial IPA today -- the description of "fresh-cut pine and citrus" on the label sounded really good, piney/citrus is the sort of hoppy beer that seems to work pretty well for my taste buds (a lot of the "tropical" hops don't always taste like what they're supposed to, for some reason... but the pine/citrus/grapefruit type have pretty consistent for me, especially when it comes to double IPAs and the singles that hover in that 7% range in between single and double.) And I've had pretty positive experiences with New Belgium's other IPAs so far, so the thought that this series is better than their previous attempts at the style is great news for me.

I'll probably look into picking some up sometime, I like New Belgium generally but it's been a while since I've had anything from them (if I could ever find their Abbey dubbel anywhere it'd be a different story... but sadly I don't think I saw even a single six-pack of that one in 2016. I'm not sure I even saw it on the shelves much in 2015, now that I think about it...)
