I just bought a BM23 Stainless Steel Club Top keggerator but didn't realize that is used a single tap 2.5 inch tower. I was wanting to use a dual tap tower but can't find a 2.5 inch dual tap tower. Does any one know of any dual tap 2.5 inch tower options? I could use a 3 inch tower but would like to avoid drilling any holes if possible. Are there any other options? Thanks
The reason you don't see any 2.5" doubles is that it is very hard to fit two beer lines, the cooling line and the insulation into the tower while still leaving room for return air to come back out of the tower. At the top the shanks and tail pieces will also be pretty smug to each other. You bought a high end unit, do this right.
Thanks. So the right thing is to drill the holes for the 3" dual tap tower? I can't see just having a single beer on tap as my wife and I have different beer tastes. 8) The back story on this is that I bought a "scratch and dent" model from Beverage Factory that didn't have a tower but didn't realize the BM23 Club Top took a 2.5" tower.
Base flange dimensions are typically 4 1/2" if I recall. The towers are not unique to each kegerators so you can swap them out if needed. Don't go too cheap on the replacement tower. The Bev Air is very nice. Slap a replacement M-I-C flimsy plated ABS plastic tower on that and you will regret it every time you handle it. That's my advice. Cheers.
I bought a Kegco 3" SS dual tap tower with Perlick taps from the Beverage Factory when I bought the BM2C. I was just hoping there was a suitable dual tap 2.5" option so I wouldn't have to drill but I'm fine doing the modifications if necessary. Thanks,
You could do something like one of these add-a-tap contraptions. but I don't think you will find it in a 2 1/2" diameter. don't really know. those things are just dorky. yeah, I'm in the third grade and that looks dorky to me. a proper two faucet tower is the right thing to do here if you ask me. you will like the SS 3" with Perlicks. that's the cats ass. cats pajamas? ok. I'm done.
I replaced my 2½" with a 3" SS tower. If I recall correctly I reused one of the existing back holes and had to drill three. It's actually a very simple operation and the old holes are hidden under the new tower. Do it once and do it right!
Thanks IceAge and BillandSuz. I'm going to drill and assemble the rest of the system tonight. I was going to fill the unused holed with some silicon. I need to get this part over so I can decide on my first two kegs. Unfortunately I'm out of town this weekend at my wife's college reunion so I'll have to wait until next week. The good news is she graduated from Luther College in Decorah Iowa home of Toppling Goliath Brewery which brews some amazing beers. If you ever get a chance to taste their beers it is well worth it.
I have a BM23 and need to replace my beer lines. I cant find my manual. Does anyone know what size beer lines the BM23 takes?
Beverage Air manuals are all available online at their website. They haven't changed in oh, 25 years? All beer line "choker" is 3/16" ID and either 7/16" OD or 5/16" OD (less common). Don't be cheap. Buy Beverage Line, 3/16" x 7/16". The thicker walls of the 7/16" OD is superior in many ways. Do not use ordinary PVC tubing from the hardware store. You need to know how long the choker should be. That is debatable to some degree but for home use you will want at least 6 feet and not more than 10 feet. Best thing to do is measure the length you have now and match it if you are happy with the pour quality. Have fun with the bent elbow and the removing the Oetiker clamps. Don't know what I'm talking about? You will soon enough... Cheers.
THANKS PABOB. I hope it all works out, we are here for you anonymous net user! edit. but who is the fool?
