I had the opportunity to taste two new beers from Rock Bottom KoP's new brewer (don't know his name). The first was a peppered golden ale. Disappointing. Seemed gimmicky. The second was an Amarillo IPA. Straight hop fruit juice w/ a bitter finish perfectly balance malt. Good stuff. One outta two ain't bad. Good luck sir..
There is a core lineup shared by all of them, some common seasonal recipes, and there are location specific ones. Rock Bottom KoP has historically done a really good job with their unique IPAs and not much else. In particular Simcarillo and Sub Zero are regularly awesome (and incredibly cheap).
Also, for those that were curious, the new brewer is Chris Rafferty (ex-Flying Fish, John Harvard Main Line, Rock Bottom Chicago, Rivertowne, etc). The former brewer, Brian McConnell, is opening his own brewery in Media called "Sterling Pig Brewing."
In my experience, the beers outside of the shared lineup vary wildly in quality. KoP generally regarded as superior to Pittsburgh pretty consistently.
A little bit of discussion here: http://www.joesixpack.net/2015/03/25/beer-radar-2-new-suburban-breweries-plus-30-new-beers-in-town/ Cheers!
