Its been a while since Ive heard any updates on Sixpoint, Troegs, Cigar City, and Surly. I saw that Troegs still has the Sales Rep position available on its website, but I couldnt find anything on Sixpoint's website. As for Cigar City, I know thats a long shot, but just curious if anyone's heard anything. Surly I know is a ways out.

For shits and giggles, last year I threw the idea at one of the high ups at Harris (after he mentioned they looked at Firestone Walker) of bringing in AleSmith. I know that hasnt happened yet, but hey theyre in VA just like FW, Troegs, CCB, and Sixpoint. So why not?

I believe Odell was another mentioned. Cigar City just tripled(quaded?) their capacity, so it stands to reason their typicals could make it here this year.

On a side note, I just shot an email to Sixpoint asking this question.

sadly, we wont see Dissident, which I want to try. Abyss will be behind as well. Oh darn.

Ohio just got Deschutes, so heres to wishing.

Heres the email I just got from Sixpoint:
    Hi there,
No plans for NC distribution at this point. We are still feeding the demand of existing markets.
    cheers,

I bought both the Resin and Bengali Tiger when up in Ohio a few months back. Should have bought singles. Gave away 2 each after trying a second to make sure they weren't for me. I know to each their own, but if Sixpoint makes it to NC, my money will stay with the likes of NoDa, Birdsong, Foothills. I wish they were better, because I love 16oz cans of craft beer (Looking at you NoDa!).

Agree - I don't really care if Sixpoint makes it to NC. Would love Odell, Deschutes, Troeg's, FW, Cigar City, and Surly though. Either way, we have tons of great options, local and national. Love NoDa and Birdsong in particular in CLT. And if Wicked Weed bottles, wow! Love visiting Burial and WW in Asheville and Fonta Flora in Morganton, too.

When I lived in Maryland, I got Sixpoint on occasion. However, I was never a huge fan. Their beers are good, there are just others brewed in NC that I'd rather purchase, similarly to your thoughts. Just my opinion though.

I could live without 6point and Troegs (though I do love NN). Not that they are bad breweries, but the NC scene is so crowded at this point that they don't really bring much new to the table.

Troeg's Hopback Amber - nothing similar in NC. Delicious everyday beer. Sunshine Pils and Perpetual IPA are darn good, too. Haven't gotten to try Nugget Nectar yet.

If you have an opportunity, get some. It's a great beer.

agreed. NN blows Hopback over the left field fence.

Was going to say, i've had HopBack (granted it's been a while), but I can't say it did a whole lot for me relative to NN.

Getting back on topic, I heard Surly had a tent at the Asheville Winter Warmer beer fest. Why do that if they weren't planning on entering the market?

I know they have plans after the expansion finishes. I was asking about updates since like December.
