Charleston Brewing Co. said, "Cheers to all of the very patient Charlestonians who await our opening on April 14th!"
Brewstel BP & BOP, Elkins, currently open as a home brew shop and hostel, has its roof-top dinning & drinking area under construction and could be brewing by the 4th of July. Time will "tel"!
I'm told that Greenbrier Valley Brewing, Lewisburg, WV, has begun to purchase brewing equipment to replace or add to the nano brewing system they have been using for testing their recipes. I've heard no estimate of an opening date but I'd guess they could be open by the 4th of July. They would be the 8th brewery in WV unless Brewstel in Elkins opens before they do. On the other hand, they list no address or phone number which suggests they have not yet secured a building, so ...? Roger, across the Ohio River in Marietta, OH
Glad to hear it for my West by god brethren. Hope they make some top notch brews since WV is like craft beer wasteland.
I went to Greenbrier Valley Brewing's first tasting session a few weeks ago, he said he was targeting December of this year as an opening date. Lewisburg is primed for a micro-brewery so we are pretty excited for it.

Does Greenbrier Valley have a building under lease? I'm thinking February might be a safer bet than December but I am hoping they can hustle and make it by January 4. Is the Wild Bean coffee shop & cafe, Lewisburg, still in operation and, if so, is it still planning to become a brewpub under the name Wild Brew? Thanks, Roger
Charleston, WV, opening day update: Monday, April 15th, 11 am. Charleston Brewing Company, 702 Quarrier St., Charleston, WV, 304-343-2739.
Charleston Brewing Company Charlestonian beer lovers: Unfortunately, due to construction issues far beyond our control, we have to push back the date of our opening past this coming Monday. We will still be opening next week, we just can't say for sure when, right now. We sincerely apologize for the delay (it sucks for us, too), and will keep you posted. However, the beer is in the serving tanks, ready to roll; and is tasting great. Moreover, Chef Gary and his guys and gals in the kitchen are ready to rock it out, as well. Cheers!

Wild bean is still operation and still popular in Lewisburg, I haven't heard anything about it becoming a brewpub though.
Charleston Brewing Company Patient Lovers of Craft Beer: It's happening. Finally. We're opening. Pouring beer. Serving food. The whole thing. This evening, starting at 5pm, we are opening the doors for our own version of a "soft opening." Essentially, this means that we will be up and open, but that we will still be working through kinks out on the floor, and in the kitchen. Service may be a bit slow, and ticket times a bit long. We may not be firing on all cylinders right away, but we'll do our best to bring it as strong as we can. Tomorrow at 11am, we open "for real." To put it mildly, we appreciate your patience and support, and will do our very best to make this "your local" Cheers!
Here is a beer blog about the soft opening. http://blogs.wvgazette.com/beerstoyou/2013/04/20/charleston-brewing-companys-soft-opening/
Brewstel, Elkins, claims it is opening today and, if so, they'll be #8 for the Mountain State: "It's going to happen today people. We'll be putting the "BREW" in Brewstel. Thanks for waiting so long with us!"
Not opening caboose9, just getting their first batch of beer started. Not sure when they will actually open doors/pour for the public. Pics on the fb page do not look like much to go around. I think I'd give them more time before claiming them as one of WV's breweries.
The big opening announcement by Brewstel, Elkins, was far from a full glass pour! All that is going on is a test run of their BOP equipment. They lack the permits to sell beer made by anyone! Unless one of the Lewisburg groups is farther along than I think they are, brewery #8 for the Mountain State will likely be in 2014. Does anyone have an update for either &/or both of Lewisburg's potential breweries? Cheers & Fresh Beers, Roger
