Hudson Brewing Company made its debut yesterday at the Hudson Booster Days festival.

The brewery's beers are branded under the name American Sky Beer. The first two offerings from American Sky Beer --an Amber ale and a Golden ale-- are now available on-tap at Pudge's Bar in downtown Hudson.

Immediate plans are for draught beer sales with bottles available locally in the fall.

I don't know- looks kinda corny and generic - like one of those Winery Exchange supermarket brands or another "Patriotic" themed charity contract brew.

Stranger things have happened (and succeeded), tho', when it comes to craft beer branding.

Made it down to Pudges today and had a pint of the Amber Salute and a small sample of the Golden Ale (was almost late for work). Was really hoping for at least some decent beer and they didnt disappoint. The amber was nicely balanced, somewhat hoppy with a bit of sweetness. The golden poured pretty hazy with some fairly fruity hops. More of a fan of the amber, but I could see the golden doing well with the beginners. They said they will be releasing an IPA later this summer as well. Nothing really spectacular, but definitely some solid brews that I am looking forward to picking up fresh and locally and being able to enjoy at the brewery when the taproom opens.

This statement is very true! And yet I think Hudsonites will be happy enough to have a brewery in town for the first time in 60 years.

I'm almost more curious about whether the Yoerg Brewery in Hudson (later Casanova Brewery) was connected to Yoerg's Brewing Company in Saint Paul -- I spent a lot of time in the latter's beer-aging caves as a kid .

I like the label. Looking forward to giving them a try.

I read a blurb related to a brewpub plan at "TwinCities.com" in February -- here it is:
The status of that plan is unknown, but I know there's a BA in Hudson with an ear to the ground. :sunglasses:
