I mainly started this thread because I have been eagerly awaiting Boulevard & Terrapin entering the KY market. I know that Boulevard is still on schedule for early this year, but I haven't heard anything about Terrapin. Has anyone heard a timeline on Terrapin? I'm mainly going off of the snippet below from their 2014 post. While we're at it...which other (realistic) breweries would you like to see in Kentucky and have any others been confirmed for this year? Oh, the Places They’ll Go… Building on their impressive growth from 2013 will be what drives 2014 for Terrapin Beer Co. After expanding distribution modestly in 2013, the company is hoping to expand into multiple markets through the year. In the first quarter, Terrapin will become available in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas of Louisiana and will start distribution into parts of West Virginia. They’ll also fill out markets in Maryland, becoming available state-wide, and will begin exploring potential markets in Kentucky and Ohio.
I didn't know Terrapin was coming to KY, that is exciting! I am waiting for Boulevard as well, tired of having to go across the river to Indiana to pick it up.
It seems like anymore these things come up and hit KY in a matter of days anymore. I know it's a different situation, but Ballast Point was one that I wanted around here forever, never heard a thing about them coming, and then in a matter of days, they were in every liquor store in the city. As for who's coming, dunno. I'd like to see Central Waters, Bruery, or Westbrook come in, but who knows.
I'd be happy if Old Hickory and Wicked Weed started distro up here. Now that BP sold out, I don't care about them. I've had the beers, and they're fine. But gimme sours and quality BA stuff. Wake N Bake is my favorite Terrapin, and beyond that, nothing makes me yearn for distro. I'm just not as wowed by Boulevard as others. Tank 7 is solid, and I've got a few Love Childs to open. CW would be a miracle. A great, wonderous miracle. But we'd still not get the good stuff like Black Gold and the Anniversary bottles.
I think FW makes logical sense as part of Duval USA. I would like to see a few of the NC breweries too.
I don't think Terrapin is coming anytime soon. I messaged them in October and said they had suspended their distributor search to focus on other aspects of growth. But they still have KY on the "dance card."
Just picked up some boulevard tank7 at cox's in st Matthews by Kroger. They had several boulevard options available. Get some!
