Laws are gonna have to change (w/ tiered licensing fees) before you'll see any brewery as small as Crooked Stave (who probably make around the same amount of beer as Jester King). It's a $7000 hit for a 2-year license in TX... regardless of size/volume of beer they can send.

I can tell you're cool by your avatar. Fellow Gooner, here.

On topic, I just wish some TX breweries would expand within the state. So much good stuff, so little love for the border.

Plus their bottles won't get label approval before the first 2 years are up.

I'd be pretty happy if Bruery came to Texas, even for their regular releases. I joined the reserve society this year because my wife travels to LA for work frequently. In fact, she in LA right now and tomorrow she is picking up our first allotment for RS plus a couple beers we bought that were only for sale to the societies (Wanderer and Sour in the Rye with kumquats). Still, I'd be happy if I could hit some Saison Rue or Sour in the Rye at the store.

I grew up 10 min from FFF brewery, it was all we drank in high school and college. My dad and I were having a few at their pub the day after Xmas, and they tapped a fresh keg of ZD. God I miss drinking their beer on the reg :slight_frown:

I've got a few Permanent Funerals on the way from a trade. It'll be my first time having anything from FFF. Can't wait.

I had a bottle when they first brewed it, back in May. My response upon the first sip was, "Permanent Funeral? More like Permanent Fucking Awesomeness!" It was exceptional, I don't think you will be let down! Here's to hoping you get to try many more!
