Anyone get a chance to check it out yet? I haven't been to Dogfish in years. Always loved the brewpub exclusive beers. Curious to hear what everyone thinks, I'll def be making the trip this summer.
The new building looks amazing, but unless there's new parking somewhere I won't be going until the off-season. That stretch is a mad house
I was in the first Sunday it was open. Definitely more standing room at bar than before and I was in a seat in maybe 15 minutes. I was solo. Nice open area for seating-really nicely done for sure. Once the other half is complete it will be enormous and a very cool central courtyard. Worth checking out-timing may be everything. Later on a Sunday before summer really starts as the crowds are leaving was my strategy.
I went there this past Sunday, really well done, looks like 4 tap stations (24 taps per) in the main bar totaling 96 tap lines. I feel like they did a really good job of making a large, really nice, modern pub that still feels like DFH when you walk in. Service was very good as well. Looking forward to seeing the beer gardens they build after the summer. Only street parking, but they only had like 12 spots anyways. Side note, Revelation Brewery is 10-15 minutes away on foot and really worth checking out. Solid beer and most of their offerings are less than 6.5%.
A great alternative to DFH. Iro Hill out of Northern DE has announced a site coming to Rt 1 by the Outlets as well in 2018. Bring it on I say as I can get tired of DFH. Mad props to them dont get me wrong but it can be a real zoo!!!
Mispillion River is in Milford about 40 minutes northwest. If you are looking for someone that is banging out good beers, they are it. The Space Otter is a Pale Ale at 5%. Very drinkable all day. And it's in cans! They have some other IPA offerings too like Not Today Satan. And last night had their pineapple milkshake beer that was fantastic. Looking forward to checking out DFH in the off season. Was nice to be in the old joint the first few months it was open, then closing it out on the final weekend. (Along with frequent trips in between.) I had an ESB when I was there a month ago or so that was one of the best American-made ESB's of all time.
I'll be down in the area this weekend. Was planning on going to dinner with my wife at Henlopen O. H. , but now I may consider swinging by DFH either before or after dinner to check it out as well. Agree, the old brewpub setup in Rehobeth was always just way too crowded/loud for my liking. Hopefully the new setup is more spacious and chilled and doesn't have that packed Irish pub/standing room/screaming & hollering vibe like the old place did.
