Haven't had either fresh enough to make that determination. Rarely see either less than 2 months old.

There isn't enough Mosaic hops grown at this point for Lagunitas to do that.

The Pale is definitely the better beer of the two.

...of New Dogtown Pale Ale and IPA. My opinion, which is not final by any means, is that the IPA is a bit milder than the NDPA. I love both, but they've become interchangeable, and I now know why. They are both great, but the IPA actually has all the hops and less bitter bite. I think it is a subtle difference, but it's there. You change the label on the bottle and you will get some wrong answers. If you can't tell that NDPA has more carbonation than IPA, you may be tricked.

    Thoughts?

    Cheers!

I think I've had both beers at some point, but I don't really have an opinion.
I'm just wondering when "drinking a couple beers" turned into a "bottle tasting"...
    Cheers!

Since I had one then the other. I bought them side by side, at the same store, similar Julian date hidden on the neck, and had the NDPA first, then the IPA. I poured them out of bottles and they tasted great. That's when it happened for me.

I just did a Troegs beer dinner....

Nugget Nectar paired with Trail Mix.....

can't wait for the next course.

Seriously though.... Both are similar brews, and I usually prefer my hoppy beers to be the lower ABV variety, because the citrus/etc comes out, without the bitterness.

I love Lagunitas ( I'm drinking Sucks ), but the only difference I could tell was the small amount of lingering hops from the NDPA.
