Doing a week long trip in august this year. Departing from NYC in a Sunday. Gonna drive up through Hudson valley / upstate capital region. Doing halfway stops to and fro so the kids don’t have to sit in the car too long. On the way up I’ll be driving past Suarez to hit up fidens and maybe wayward lane. Considers stopping at Suarez or gaskins for food but may just try to straight shoot up to fidens. I get my fair share of Suarez in NYC and have done a case delivery before. But an on-site pour still sounds nice. Leaning towards a fidens and wayward 1-2 punch for day 1 tho. Will get a room around there, and then head to Vermont on Monday morning. Gonna stay in Waterbury/Stowe for 2 days. Have a day exploring stowe and a day exploring Waterbury on the itinerary. Planning to hit alchemist upon arrival. Grab breakfast at cafe on main or lunch at ranch camp depending on how we’re feeling. Then explore Stowe rec path. Maybe hit up von trappe for a horse and carriage ride or something the kids will enjoy, then hit up the bench for dinner. Staying at old stagecoach in Waterbury. Tuesday will explore Waterbury. Prob have breakfast at the inn and then walk historic downtown. Some possible activities include Ben and Jerry’s, the cider mill, cabot cheese store, and lake Champlain chocolates. Plan on hitting up backblack for lunch somewhere in between. Will venture over to three penny for dinner. Wednesday will check out and head to hill farmstead early upon arrival. Head back to our room and Craftsbury and maybe stop at Willy’s on the way back. Parker pie for dinner. Thursday hill farmstead again. Will stop at the genny in Craftsbury sometime that day. Awesome general store and last time they had some HF cans that were sold out at the brewery so I was able to grab some Edward which was clutch. Blackbird bistro on site of our room for dinner. Gonna be worn out by now so keeping it light. Just gonna relax, drink, and enjoy some outdoor time. Friday departing for NYC, but taking a different route down thru Massachusetts. Gonna stop at treehouse in Deerfield for the amazing pizza and of course complete the beer haul with some green and Julius. Will prob end up doing a room in MA for the night to split up the drive, and finally arrive back in NY on Saturday with 2 coolers full of beer . Anyways if anyone has any suggestions along this route please add. This community has been awesome and has honestly helped me nail down so many details on my trip. I’m an over-planner. Planning the vacation is half of the fun for me lol. When we went to Korea I had such a detailed itinerary with directions - and my wife is the Korean one, yet I was the one navigating us around. Helps that their metro is very English friendly and they cater to English speaker tourists in general.

Magic Wings butterfly sanctuary is three minutes up the road from Tree House. I'm not sure how it is in the summertime but I used to take my kids there in the winter for little mini tropical vacations. There's also the Rock Fossil & Dinosaur shop which I've never been to - my kids were all butterflies and not so much t-rexes. Another four minutes further up the road is Richardson's Candy Kitchen and homemade ice cream - because everybody's had some pizza, you have your NEIPA's, and now you're going to need some ice cream, I mean, right?

I'm a big big fan of Common Roots. Not sure if it fits in with your plan on the Northbound segment of your trip; but we always make a stop as we're passing through the Glens Falls area.

If you're into spirits, Smuggler's Notch Distillery is located in the same shopping center as LC Chocolates and Cabot. I ended up doing a flight and getting several bottles of bourbon.
