No thread for Feb or Jan. What's going on with the NEBCO love?

Question - Any word from NEBCO on raising growler limits? They said they would once the new brew house was in, but I haven't seen anything. Their growler lists have been much more appealing than pre-expansion, but it would be nice to get 4-5 fills.

How have the lines been? I may go tomorrow.

They were on yesterday as well, no real lines all day. Would be pretty surprised if it doesn't last till tomorrow, though maybe traffic will start picking up today as we get closer to the SB.

Yeah, I'm glad to see these kind of beers on tap more consistently. Hag is cool, but I can get it at every store, bar, restaurant around. If I have tomorrow off, I'm hoping to score some gbot and coriolis.

No mention of Coriolis. Bot and Locust.

Yeah I mean they had coriolis a couple weeks ago, not sure it'll be up in the rotation for another 1-2 months

Every beer I have had from NEBCO since they reopened has been off. Ducks (a couple batches, Yolis, Locust) it's not like they taste bad but not at all like they did this time last year. Tree House went though some growing pains when they upped production so I'm hoping that's the case here but Yolis was one of my favorite IPA's from any brewery and the last one I had was very average. Copper color, thin, no Nelson at all. Hoping they can right the ship because I used to LOVE NEBCO.

As far as raising growler limits, remember that CT law only allows each individual to purchase 2 gallons of beer from a brewery. So they can't (legally) allow you more than that. At least that's what the law was when the growler bill was first adopted, but I don't believe it has changed.

So wouldn't wouldn't that mean that they could allow 4 2L fills? Right now it's only 3, IIRC. Also, the 3 growlers is not dependent on size, so they would also limit you to 3 32oz fills.

Stopped in today with my kids around 345. In and out in less than 10 minutes with my 3 growlers. Both locust and bot are on point. My kids also told me the lollipops were some of the best in new England.

Could be the start of lollipop advocate, I'm glad to say I was here at the beginning.

Did Locust and/or Bot kick before closing last night? Thinking of hopping in the car to head up.

NEBCO kind of blows in the communication front. Would like to know the tap list.

Anybody think EBF will have an impact? I'd like to grab some Super Bowl beer, but don't have time to stand in line.

"We're starting today with hag, bot, fat-ten-er 8, and Galaxy pale ale. We don't expect bot to last the whole day but the rest should. Thanks!"

Well, 4 x 2L is actually above 2 gals, but yeah, I didn't know what their current limits were (especially 3 growlers of any size), so they can definitely raise their current limits and still be "legal".

    Chapter 545 30-16

    (b) A manufacturer permit for beer shall be in all respects the same as a manufacturer permit, except that the scope of operations of the holder shall be limited to beer, but shall permit the storage of beer in any part of the state. Such permit shall also authorize the offering and tasting, on the premises of the permittee, of free samples of beer brewed on such premises and the selling at retail from the premises of sealed bottles or other sealed containers of such beer for consumption off the premises. The offering and tasting may be limited to visitors who have attended a tour of the premises of the permittee. Such selling at retail from the premises of sealed bottles or other sealed containers shall comply with the provisions of subsection (d) of section 30-91 and shall permit not more than nine liters of beer to be sold to any person on any day on which such sale is authorized under the provisions of subsection (d) of section 30-91. The annual fee for a manufacturer permit for beer shall be one thousand dollars.

    ---

Two roads lists the CT maximum for sale as 288oz and enforces this as 4x2l max. I would think that they would as good handle on it than anyone given their size and strict adherence to most statutes over the years.

Anyone else not loving Sea Hag anymore? I've had pretty fresh cans from multiple 6 packs recently and it's not as good as I recall.
