Have you tried the Foolproof one? A few people have said their normal IPA is the worst in New England.

Have you tried the foolproof one? I think its actually pretty good, I'll definitely be trying their new DIPA.

as a native Rhode Islander, new england only consists of the radius of land within 30 minutes drive from my house, the rest of new england, no the country is no mans land.

yeah, VT has been killing hops for awhile now.

however, backlash and jack's abby are on fire as well. don't forget NEBCO.

The sixer of Foolproof IPA I bought this evening was unimpressive. It's about what I would expect out of a year-old bottle of Torpedo. I won't be buying it again. The Barstool Golden Ale that I had last week on the other hand, was fantastic.
I'm really looking forward to this new JA IPL as well... I'll be there at 2:45 tomorrow.

Nothing that Foolproof makes is great in my opinion. Drinkable but I would never recommend it to anyone. Jack's Abby on the other hand is a great brewery. Hoponious is a world class beer and I can't wait for this new one.

Yes the neighbors to the north and south do have good ipas but how many of them can you walk into a local bottle shop and get. JA, Backlash, and Foolproof can be purchased throughout most of mass with little trouble and bottle limits. Mainly excited just because all 3 are fairly newcomers and on the rise

I agree, It's nice. But Foolproof has alot to prove before I'll place them in same conversation as JA. I'm much more concerned with when JC is gonna have canned sixers of Fort Point in every stop n shop

OP I would have went with "MA Hops!" as to not stir the masses. The neighbors to the north and south do IPA's oustandingly.
I've never had Foolproof so I can't comment on their IPA's.
Jack's Abby is one of my favorites, local or otherwise. They make some of my favorite beers - Hop U, Framinghammer and its versions, Kiwi Rising - so I am very excited about the 2nd Anniversary DIPL. I won't be able to make it to the brewery today or soon so I'll anxiously wait for it to arrive at my local shops.
I really enjoyed Salute from Backlash. Picked up a bottle whenever I saw it. Will do the same with Catalyst when it arrives.

What did this thread think of Jack's Abby's The ABCs?

I liked it but I liked Kiwi Rising more and I prefer Hoponius to The ABCs - hoping the 2nd Anniversary is awesome.

Worst in New England is a ridiculous statement, but I did find it to be rather average and uninteresting. The combination of cascade and fuggles hops don't get my panties in a bunch.

I've never seen Foolproof around Boston and only just heard Backlash mentioned once or twice, and not sure if I've seen it or not. Fair enough on the JA, I grab a bottle of that at checkout every time I go into Blanchards. Or at least I try to.

I think the Foolproof Raincloud Porter is fantastic, but the IPA and Golden Ale are meh.

I haven't had that one yet but if it's anything like their imperial Stout it will let me down too. II'm sure I will get around to trying it when the season changes. For now I will stick to supporting Grey Sail when it comes to local beers.

YESSS. Meadowlark! I ran into Dann and Martha at the CBC Anniversary party and they were excited to bring it back, as we all are I'm sure.
