Hey guys, I'm taking a roadtrip from Huntington, Long Island, NY to Portland, ME. We leave Nov. 28 and come back on Dec.1. Looking for any suggestions for breweries and restaurants to hit.
I'll start with Maine and work my way back. Allagash right in Portland is awesome. I've heard great things about Novare Res which is a bar in Portland as well. Maine Beer Co is about 30 minutes up the road in Freeport. I'm pretty sure the LL Bean factory is in Freeport as well, if you're looking for something non beer related. Down in Portsmouth, NH there's Smuttynose, Portsmouth Brewing and Red Hook. A little further down the road in Hampton is Blue Lobster who does 5 dollar flights and growler fills. I'm assuming you're going straight up 95 so you can also stop in Boston. In Boston there's Samuel Adams, Trillium (Growler fills, no tastings), Harpoon, Mystic, and Night Shift. Jack's Abby is in Framingham there's Jack's Abby which I highly recommend. They have bottles and growler fills. In Rhode Island there isn't too much brewery wise. Julians is an excellent craft beer bar with some great food. Providence has been voted the best city for food because of the diversity. You could pretty much find any type of food within a 5 mile radius. Lastly, you could hit New England Brewing Co in Woodbridge, Connecticut. Here's a long, well thought out answer for ya. I'm sure other people will provide more info.
