Is that breiss two row cause I'd rather use dog kibble to mash in with over that.

Yes, Great Western is $2 more... (Which is what I use)... So $51.42 for that one if you hate Briess.

Morebeer ships ten pound bags for free with purchases of 60. Could easily just order 30 pds of one malt and 30 of another and get free shipping.

    @Prep8611

It's more costly buy the 10-lb bags, even if free shipping...

I have to add (6) 10lb bags of GW 2-row to get free shipping, or $67.74 shipped, or $1.129 per lb.

    (1) 50lb bag (with shipping) comes out to $51.42, or $1.028 per lb.

So it's cheaper per pound to get the sack and pay for shipping.

But my shipping is like 25 dollars so not for me.

love2brew? They're expensive af. It was cheaper for me to get a sack of 2row shipped from morebeer ($16.98 for shipping, this was a 50lb, plus 10lb of other malt)

depending on where you're from in NJ and how far toms river is from you - i believe there are groupbuys that frequently happen over at hbt for NJ.

ah gotcha, you're way down south jersey. I'm more north/central. I guess that's why morebeer is a bit cheaper on shipping to me.

I’ve got a batch carbing now and I’m working on a two head filler:

I’ll give it a go tomorrow and report back!

Is it annoying as bottling? Do you have to sanitize the cans? That would be a huge detriment to me.

I can’t comment on the actual process yet, but will tomorrow. For sanitizing I’ll probably just spritz some chlorine dioxide from a spray bottle. Down the road, I’ll probably deoxygenate the sani water and maybe use a drop of liquid n2.

This is really just a run to see how the fillers and ‘assembly line’ works.

So far this year I've treated myself to a refractometer, and a brew bag to replace the braid in my cooler conversion mash tun.

I would love to post it but it will get flagged as spam, but I have my canning process laid out on my website. I was able to get 22ppb TPO using my methods. Which interestingly enough beat the brewery that tested it by like 14ppb.

Just checked it it out. Nice process!
Yeah, I plan on refining my process after the first run. My lab guy wanted me to bring in a can or two to test TPO, but I wanted to get it done this weekend, so the timing isn’t right. Irish stout gets brewed tomorrow, so that batch will get lab tested. I ferment, crash, and carb in one vessel, so I suspect it’ll look good.

I WILL be bringing some cans in tomorrow to check their seam. They’ve got a thickness and countersink depth gauge and a SEAMscan. I think the packaging and ops guys are nervously excited to test my little homebrew $1,700 seamer against their...umm...slightly more expensive brand new 40 head KHS filler/seamer.

Just based on visual check of the water filled test cans I ran through and the construction of the machine, I’m sure it’s going to be perfect. This is a really well made machine. I know there’s another homebrew seamer option on the market for cheaper, and I saw it in person and it looks really sturdy! But this thing is a different animal. It’s like comparing a 3 roller Monster Mill to a Victoria...

Over the years I've posted links to external websites dozens, maybe hundreds of times, and never has one of my posts been deleted for that reason. There are simple guidelines to do so:
    • When referencing another website, don't just post a link to it. Quote some content using the quote tool or add some thoughts of your own.
If you follow the guidelines then your posts won't be deleted.

Wouldn't make a lot of shops happy to hear that BSG is selling direct to homebrewers. I know Country Malt got raked over the coals for selling direct and ended up having to give up that program. Can't imagine LD would take part in this type of endeavor either, but am especially surprised BSG would be...feel like their busy enough.

Personally in the starting process of building a bar in my basement which currently re-finishing. Have had a keezer with a "beer corner" for about 7 years now, but now keezer will be in the laundry room while bar is on the finished side of the wall with wall mount taps and building a full dry bar for beer fridge, glassware, etc... Have soapstone for the tap wall and just an epoxy finish over pallet wood for the bar.
