When the taproom opens on Saturday, we'll have our new barleywine, Patience, available on tap ($6/10 oz pour) and in bottles to go ($15/750mL).

At 13.2% ABV and 88 IBU, Patience is deserving of its namesake. Grant it the time to warm in your glass, and Patience will reveal layer upon layer of malt complexity. Give it time to age in the bottle, and it will mellow and develop further for up to several years.

At just over 200 cases, this is the smallest bottling run we've ever done. Liquor stores will receive small quantities of bottles next week, and a handful of kegs will make it to bars as well. Patience may be a virtue, but in this case, if you don't act quickly you may be left back out in the cold.

Here come the groans about the price.

This is awesome! I can't wait to get my hands on some. Shouldn't be too hard to get as long as you keep your eyes peeled. I really dig all their beers, especially from the Garage Series. Does anyone know if they will be bottling Insurrection this year?

This was one of my favorite beers of ABR. I'm definitely hoping to stop by and grab a couple of bottles.

Fulton makes good beer & has put some very good stuff in their overpriced bombers, so there will probably be minimal moaning - I've been vocal about the issue & I'd be happy to buy Patience . It's when the new breweries/crap breweries try to charge $12.99 for their unknown Wheat beer or whatever the hell that there's a chorus of WTF.

88 IBU seems pretty high for a barleywine. How does that play out on the palate, ABR-goers?

Doesn't seem high to me considering it's such a high ABV beer. Hell, Sierra Nevada lists Bigfoot as having 90 IBU.

So far I've yet to be disappointed by Fulton in a 750ml bottle. War & Peace, Worthy Adversary have both been fantastic. IMO its worth the price for those 2, & I would only imagine the same with this.

Family permitting I'll be there Saturday to try and buy.

One of the brewers mentioned that Worthy Adversary has a high IBU to balance the strong malt profile. Might be the same idea here.

88 IBU is par for the course for American Barleywines. Bigfoot and Ruffian are 90 IBU.

Worth seeking out? Sounds to be *very* limited. One bottle limit at FF.

It was decent. They served it about 30 degrees too cold at the tap room. Once it warmed it was OK. I think it will cellar decently.

They noted that they made less of this than any other bottled beer they produce. Im not a huge BW fan, so ill hope to try it on tap. They are only 5 blocks from my condo, so i may make the hike.

Wouldn't 30 degrees too cold make it frozen?
