So...did not sell out today's allotment then? I'm hitting town tomorrow afternoon for my sister's wedding Saturday and would love to sneak over to grab a few bottles at some point. Hoping it will not be a two or three hour affair to do that and that i will be able to go as time allows, not as hoarders dictate...

Anyone know if Strawberry Rhubarb was available to go today? It was still hanging around at the last R&D release, I foolishly passed on it.

I'm pretty sure it was gonzo. I didn't see it in the beer depot. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Could they just "hire" two volunteers for a few hours? Keep their normal checkout process but in front of the door have someone looking at the ID, reading the name out loud and the other person writing it down or typing it into a computer (with excel, would take two seconds to see if someone has come in again). As long as you are doing this before you get inside I cannot imagine it would make the line any longer? You have to check ID, so the 5 seconds it takes to type of name wouldn't be a strain.

Not much you're going to be able to do. Douchebags everywhere will try to find a way to game the system to their advantage.

And I'm sitting up here in Madison having to work! Blech. I'll see you guys tomorrow though..

I wish every brewery would use BPT for their releases. Buy and pick up your allocation is much more friendly to your customers and prevents a lot of issues described above.

I think the whole way that they currently set the releases up could also be tweaked. I can understand the 2 pp over 3 days for something like the Great Taste, but they easily could have had a 4 pp with Wild Bitter over 2 days (or probably over all 3). Being a little more flexible with supply vs demand rewards those people who aren't breaking the rules, when there is plenty of beer to go around.

Nice, I just noticed I'm in there too. The guy in the disposable clear plastic poncho 2 right of the Welcome sign. Always good to have disposable ponchos in your glove box. Never know when you'll need one.

That would be a good idea, but it wouldn't stop the douche who brings a car load of 8 people that have no interest in the beer other than hoarding it for said douche...

Did anyone go late and able to still get some yesterday? Planning on going up tomorrow (Saturday) around noon. Am I gonna be SOL?

My buddy arrived at 9:30 and walked out with beer in 3 minutes with two pallets left behind the counter. Late arrivals should be fine.

Very good turnout and smooth operation today (Friday). Line only extended to the end of the parking lot. Still plenty of wild bitter left. Cheers everyone!

i understand being pissed at people who try these shenanigans at the fruit sour releases, where they are screwing people out of beer since supply is less than demand. But we are still going on about someone grabbing more Wild Bitter. The stuff is still in the beer depot, 5 weeks after the release. It's a shelf turd. New Glarus set the limit because they couldn't estimate demand. Now they are stuck with thousands. I'm sure NG would love to sell it off at no limit. But that would just create a shit storm here, everyone bitching that new glarus only sold 2 to the people who came out early, but now anyone can buy a case.

I don't know; personally I don't think I would like if they changed the system. I like being able to roll up stand in line and get my bottles. I would hate to see it go to pre-order tickets because I think that would only ensure that more non-Wisconsinites get bottles. plus, then you end up with a situation where you are camping out at your computer the second the tickets go on sale and you will see people complaining that they got froze out. Is it a shame that some game the system? yes it is. It's a goddamn shame. but, I dont think you change the entire system based on what amounts to be only a few bad actors. personally, I think its a "if you see something, say something" type of situation. All in all these releases have always been a good time.

Agreed, can't stop it all but I this will for sure cut down on some. If a guy is willing to bring another dude to grab 1L of beer down to Madison then to me that's fine... much better than a guy grabbing 4x the limit himself. He has to compensate these other guys somehow.

That being said if this lasts past the weekend, got some Rare Barrel in it for someone who would like to IP. I always time my trips in between good beer periods, missed beer week by a week last time.
