They really should hold a few cases back for the next time they brew it. Would be a nice surprise to see it pop up for sale alongside another blonde a few years down the road!

I cracked one last night with a few people at a bar last night, and it's fantastic. Really nice and bright citrusy almost lemon character. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

Just got back and there is a ton left. Probably 25 or so cases

I was there today at around 2PM. The place was busy (many IL plates), but not many in the beer depot. There is 25 cases left, but I would not call that a ton. Compared to Wild Bitter this seems like a small amount after a week. Granted travel to NG should keep slowing this time of year.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is another pallet full in back they haven't brought out yet.

Just got home from Japan where I've been the past two weeks, so I "missed out" on the recent CW and NG releases (and FF). That being said, it sounds like there is still a few bottles of Golden Ale left- is that correct? If so, perhaps I'll have to make the trip over this weekend to check it out. Drink one, cellar one.

Does anyone have an idea of how long the Golden Ale can sit before opening?

The label states 38 barrels for the batch. With only 5 cases (that we know of) left it went much quicker than I expected.

General rule for cellaring is drink one fresh before aging it. Who knows you might like it fresh! and it is good for comparison later when you do crack a bottle that has been sitting in the cellar for a while.

I think there is a good amount that is being held back and will be used in the future.

Or as with Wild Bitter, folks thought it was almost out and then they brought out another pallet...then another.

Well I'm definitely not going back until Sunday, and I imagine people from more southern points will stop by on the way up to Darkness Day so I'm not holding my breath.

Nothing would surprise me. Just relaying what an employee of NG told me this weekend, "pallets are being held back for future use".

Less than 10 bottles left in the depot as of this morning.

Finally cracked a bottle of the recent batch of R&D Golden Ale. This is masterful beer. Dan is really kicking ass. R&D Golden Ale over exceeded my expectations without a doubt. Dare I admit that this was better than Wild Barrel and Vintage 2014? Well I think it is!

No kidding? No way it'll make it to Sunday then. Updates from here on are appreciated.
