Excited to try the triple. Not usually a favorite style of mine, but I trend to try every new New Glarus release at least once.

Interesting seeing dancing man in January, that beer is synonymous with summer.

I wonder if they brewed R&Ds in 2020 and will do a large 3 or 4 beer release when things open back up.

Here's to hoping for yokel or hometown blonde this year, I would buy so many cases...

Agreed, not many Wisconsin breweries make a great tripel.

Id do anything for more hometown blonde. If they fire off a surprise batch of that again this year, somebody in this thread better sound the alarm!

Never had Yokel yet but I would expect a bottle conditioned, unfiltered lager made by New Glarus to be excellent.

Agreed on this. NG is one of the few breweries for whom pricing + quality means that there's almost never a new beer of theirs that I won't try once.

(and basically never one I regret trying)

Yokel is excellent! If you enjoy the hometown blonde, you’ll enjoy yokel. My favorite three easy drinking beers from New Glarus are Yokel, Zwickel and hometown blonde.

Sorry if this isn't allowed (I know this thread is for discussion, just looking for advice) but does anyone know the best place to post ISO's for New Glarus stuff? Looking for 6 more R&D's to have all 22 for a share between a few friends.

What did everyone think of Triple 5? I thought it was pretty good, but not great. It tasted a little rough to me. The carbonation didn't feel right. Of course I just had a La Fin not too long ago, so my bar was set high.

Dancing Man is great, as usual. I get it when people say they wish it came out during the summer--but with the spicy finish and the slight booziness, I thought it went pretty well with a zero degree day. Maybe they'll have Bubbler in the summer, that is a good warm-weather hefe.

good question, not even sure if it’s a case of over/under. It just felt a little rough in the mouth, is the best way I can put it. Again, as compared to something like La Fin which is so pillowy/creamy

Curious how you got NG in Utah?

I agree that Triple 5 was okay. It taste kinda like an imperialized Hefeweizen. But I have not tried enough Triple’s to know where the bar is set.

Of course Dancing Man is outstanding. Going through my second 6-pack. An amazing Hefeweizen at an incredible price.

Tough crowd. While it's not the best example of a tripel, it's far from undrinkable.

I think people are too accustomed to darker dubbels or a turbocharged quad. A tripel is intended to be different than those. I didn't think Triple 5 had the banana-ish wheat profile of a hefe, but I'd be curious to put it side-by-side with La Fin, Allagash White, and Tank 7 to see if it falls closer to a different style.

Looks like nothing new on the beer calendar. Totally Naked and Kid Kolsch coming back and a few more beers extended into Spring.

In other news, I saw a screenshot of a keg preorder sheet that included a doppelbock from NG called Gyrator. Should be available in the Fall.

I was out of state when Kid Kölsch came out the last time, so looking forward to trying that. Also, I am always happy when a new dopplebock comes into my life.

Website still says Beer Depot closed until October of 2021, so I assume no R&D this summer. Although maybe they are still making them, and will be released at Depot later? At the very least there should be some new Vintage vintages kicking around, right?
