I woud definitely line up for that. But you know, even when NG isn't extraordinary, they are solid (although I'm relieved that it isn't the Winter Warmer. That was a drain pour for me.) So I'll probably make the trek North to check it out regardless of what the anniversary beer ends up being.

Now I'm not a big fan of winter warmers, and that certainly wasn't a very "exciting" beer in the usually unique and excelling portfolio of Thumbprint/Unplugged beers, but a drain pour? I have poured infected beers, stale IPAs, and overly-oxidized messes, but never a respectable, unexciting beer that's not my favorite style.

For penance, go back in the drain, retrieve the Winter Warmer, and drink it

Then again, truth be told, I drank one, added one to the cellar and extra'd the other 2 away. I shouldn't judge...

You know, I have absolutely zero problems with pouring out a beer that I'm not enjoying. Life is to short to drink meh beers. And an empty glass makes it easier to fill it with something that I do like.

But each to their own. I'm sure that there are lots of people who enjoyed Winter Warmer. I think there might even be some sort of support group or something...

As per the Rileys twitter: "Also the New Glarus 20th anniversary beer (strong ale) should be available for retail sale on May 20th. No word on the next thumbprint yet."

Man... really hoping it's at the NG Beer Depot before then. Will be leaving Wisconsin on the 20th. Saw a rumor circulating that the next Thumbprint will be Berliner Weiss again, but that could be completely unfounded. They say they'll be announcing it soon.

Berliner Weiss is on shelves in a few places in Milwaukee already. Discount and Rays both have it.

No shit? That's awesome news. Will be stocking up on that one while I'm there, then.

Ok FIBs time to saddle up, fire up the Nite Rida's, crush some I94, and take down stacks of Wisco's milkshake. Good thing there's always plenty to go around

The beer guy at Woodman's in Sun Prairie said it's a strong ale in large(er) bottle format. He said they'll be getting 15 cases, and New Glarus is suggesting two per customer with the recommendation of drinking one fresh and cellaring the other.

He also mentioned a new fruit beer is forthcoming, but absolutely no details.

Interesting. Guessing Thumbprint, but maybe a fourth 750ml bottle. Their gonna run out of different fruit to use at some point, right?

Knowing Dan, I seriously doubt they'll run out of different fruits to brew in their 750s! ISO: NG Mango Belgian Yellow

Any word if they'll be keeping Serendipity long term? They can't possibly let that gem die off...right?

End of the month is no good! Needs to be end of the week! Will be at the brewery this Saturday and will be leaving Wisconsin Monday morning. Really want to snag some bottles before taking off. :slight_frown:

They let Uff-Da die off and it was an awesome beer. Then replaced it with Back 40 bock, what a joke!
