I was drinking an Apple Ale and wondering how it was fermented. I know that it has apple juice added to a brown ale base just prior to fermentation but wasn't sure it was wild fermented like the large-format fruit beers or not.

I don't have a source to site but I'm 99% sure that this beer is not any kind of wild ale or sour. Its just an apple beer.

My wife's favorite beer, and as Rocco here said, it's not wild or sour. Reminds me of liquid apple pie.

That must be rough for your wife living two states and at least a 5 hour drive away in Ohio.

Yes, but I hope Dan decides to make a sour batch of it some day.

I bet he'll make an apple sour someday. Maybe that will be this years great taste R&D.

It's not too bad, since my boss' wife Lori has family in Wisconsin. She brings us back some every time she goes and visits.
