I'm thinking of taking the hour and a half drive to the brewery (I'm in Waukesha) but want to know if they have anything special at the brewery that you can't get in local stores. Has anyone been there in the past week or 2? Lastly, I've seen alot of ISO Wisconsin Belgian Red and haven't found it anywhere except one place that has it in a gift set, is there any chance the brewery has some for visitors?
Usually nothing special at the brewery, haven't heard of any recent R&D releases. Also, tours are self-guided unless you book a hard hat tour months in advance. Still, it's a cool place to visit. Make sure you stop at Puempel's Olde Tavern in the town of New Glarus if you go. Pretty cool historical bar with great soups. Where in Waukesha are you at? We'll have to get together for a tasting sometime, I'm right by Waukesha North.
When I was there a month ago, they had plenty of the gift sets. I could swear they had bottles of Belgian Red as well. Hopefully someone who just went recently will comment.
I live in the NW suburbs of Illinois, looking to grab some Serendipity and IIPA. Going up later today Any suggestions on where to go would be great Thanks and Cheers!
