New Glarus Brewing (2018)

Got a 4 pack at the brewery and supply seemed low-ish unless they had more elsewhere. I got one of the last 1-2 on draft as that keg kicked. Roy’s and Woodman’s Beloit both didn’t have it (the extent of my additional hunting)

 

Is R&D 2016 vintage currently avaialable at the brewery?

Also, is there a list somewhere of to-go options at the brewery

I saw a few cases of 2016 last Friday (5/4)

 

I haven't heard of anything past June yet.

 

There is no such list, unfortunately, but it's likely a few R&Ds, the year-rounds, current seasonals, Mistral Pilsner, and a few current Thumbprints and fruit beers. If you're looking for Strawberry Rhubarb, @grizzlycat said that they were limited to one four-pack per person at the brewery.

And if you've never been, prices are higher at the brewery than you'll find elsewhere.

 

R&D 2015 and 2016 were there Saturday. There were a few other large format beers (Sour Porter, Champ Rouge) as well.

 

Just a minor thing, but I think you mean Vintage 2015 and 2016. Sour Porter, Champ Rouge, Vintage 2015, and Vintage 2016 are all under the larger umbrella of "R&D".

 

Good call. There was another R&D as well and I'm just blanking on it.

 

Is pommie the third? They still had some about 2 or 3 months ago. Probably my favorite of the several that suddenly re appeared at the depot last year. Really hoping for some fruits for this years releases...

Yeah the Pommier Sauvage was excellent.

 

Could be the smoked Finnish juniper thing that they released as a surprise last year, I forget the name.

Damn can’t remember. Mistral was decently well stacked at 2 pp. Rhubarb was looking much lower

 

2 4 packs or 2 6 packs pp? I saw $69 per case in that pic someone posted a page back, does that mean 2 cases pp? I sure hope it’s not 2 bottles per person cause then it’s not worth the drive.

I would think some sort of announcement about their 1st R&D release has to be soon, right? I was told the weekend of June 8-10 is when they're doing it...but nothing has been officially announced yet.

 

Announcements have been made about a week before the release, in the past. So you'll have to wait a bit longer I'm guessing.

 

I understand waiting that long to announce which beers they will be release. but is that the case on when they announce which weekend it is too?

That can't be right. I remember last year being able to plan for it weeks in advance.

 

Gotcha, I misunderstood. The dates for the R&D releases are usually all announced at the same time. I assume this will be relatively soon. I guess the only one we know for sure is Aug. 10th and 11th.
