Holy shit. Sounds like a case of the no limit FIB soldiers to me.

Another small drop coming next week then the next shipment won't be until June. I'd start hitting up all the mom and pop shops along with gas stations for SR. Looks like the FOMO is high with this one.

So this was the first of many drops for SR this summer/spring?

No one is quite sure at the moment. They tell us one thing then another once it all sells out. Frustrating on my end when I tell people it'll be available for 3 or so months and poof, it's all gone. We have to wait until June for the next update.

Yea, it sure did go fast everywhere it was available. Hopefully that wasn't it for the year.

Limit 2pp... plenty of FIBs though. God bless them.

Thursday was a good one stop shop for this friendly Illinois brother. Got my five cases of SR (might be six but I lost track after the fifth trip to woodmans) and poached all the Cubs tickets from a brewers season ticket holder.

The trip to my cabin takes me up past Madison - relatively less traveled than 94 to Milwaukee so I usually don’t have a problem with the seasonal releases. Struck out this past weekend looking for SR, checked 3 gas stations and 2 groceries - not exhaustive by any means but they’ve been reliable in the past. I still have a couple places I’ll check over the next couple trips up, but my hopes are dimming on this one.

So what's the big draw to SR all of a sudden? Historically it was the least favored of the 4 fruited brews. Did everybody jump on the hype train all at once and create a capitalist uproar? I remember several years ago trading those fruits for stuff like Huna and Jester King sours, but I figured the days of trading shelfies for limited releases were long dead.

The NG fruits are great and all, but they're neither barrel aged, look like orange juice, or have vanilla. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I started hearing about it in 2016. It always seemed to me like it was the far and away favorite but was only seasonal. Not sure when that started but that's how I've always known it.

Hell it was a pretty damn big deal last year, seems less so this year simply because so many finally got a hold of it last year.

Scarcity. They took a shelfie bomber off the market for a few years and then brought it back in a limited run in a new, more serving size friendly version of 12 oz bottles. Probably could have done the same with any of the others and had the same reaction. Raspberry Tart started switching from bombers to 12 oz bottles last year but there was never a gap of them not being available.

There wasn't any real difference in flavor when the other 3 switched to 12oz but SR in 12oz was way better than the previous large format batch. Annoyed that I was out of town for this drop but it should come again.

It's one of those beers that's tasting less like beer and more like either juice or dessert. That's what people seem to want now.

Interesting you say that. Opened a 750 and 12oz together last summer and although slightly different, all four of us comparing thought the 2014 750 was every bit as good!

What exactly does "beer taste like"?

Everyone's looking for Strawberry Rhubarb and here I am just hoping that Edel Pils will actually be brewed for their 25th Anniversary and available this summer. :sunglasses:

Maybe I'll have to wait until September, which was when they first released it.
