Does anyone know if this is still available at the depot?

Haven't had it out of the bottle but draft was definitely sweeter than I expected it to be. Tasted like a little more tart version of one of their regular fruit beers. In all fairness though I came from funk factory about an hour prior...so maybe it tasted less sour because of that.

I’ll post more thoughts on the beer itself but I just left the depot and there was still 1/3 of a pallet left of Fruited Sour. I am positive it’ll last to but not beyond the weekend.

NG posted on Facebook (about an hour ago) that they are down to their last 200 bottles of Very Sour Blackberry. Whether that means last 200 bottles on the floor or last 200 bottles overall...only time will tell.

1 row and 2 cases of VSB left as of 10 minutes ago. I’d get there pronto.

I’d say you’ll be good at open.

Had this out of the bottle on Friday night (after drinking all day). I found the beer to smell absolutely fantastic- super jammy with a ton of blackberry fruit. I found the backend to be too astringent and dry, though, for my tastes. I did drink a ton of beer throughout the day before opening this bottle.

Then I had this again on draft at New Glarus on Saturday morning, with a fresh palate- the beer tasted much more well-rounded, not astringent or dry, but it definitely has that big brett presence. The fruit came through more on the palate, even if the nose didn't pop as much as it did out of the bottle.. an overall more well-rounded fruit wild beer than out of the bottle.

I'll probably try the bottle again sometime in the next few weeks on a fresh palate, but right now, I've found it to be drier and more astringent on the palate than the 2013 version.

You're welcome- and actually probably the first person to say that in a long time. I'm always glad when someone other than me is finding my written reviews useful- we just need more people reviewing and adding beers!

I took a bit of a break, and in the time that I have returned I have been really eyeing getting into reviews. I enjoy reading them (with some exceptions), and I enjoy the contributions that others make. I would like to contribute to this wealth of knowledge as well. Your reviews are great, and I also appreciate your unbiased reviews.

    Staghorn conversations haven’t begun yet?

I’ll advocate for this beer. It’s the perfect beer.

My obsession of Hometown Blonde will likely never fade, but this beer might possibly top it. The perfectly placed touch of hop bitterness opens the door for an immaculate malt delivery that just lingers perfectly for several minutes after each sip. It’s the kind of beer that confuses me, am I supposed to drink it rapidly, or savor every ounce meticulously?

Has anyone compare the difference between staghorn cans and bottles yet? Curious to know if the beer tastes any different in the different packaging.

Looks like Spotted Cow Grand Cru is back. I've actually never had it before. How is it?

I think it's pretty good. But I'm also not the biggest fan of Spotted Cow.

When I was drinking it, I kept thinking I was drinking a good Belgium Tripel.
