I would say that the Belgian Red is their "best representation of the style" when it comes to fruit beers - but the Thumbprint Series and the R&D series are where it's at when it comes to New Glarus' best offerings (in my opinion)

Wisconsin Belgian Red is the best fruit beer on the market. Like @KindaFondaGoozah mentioned, Dan was making fruit beers and experimenting with sours LONG before many of the currently popular/in breweries even had thoughts about opening and making fruit beers and sours.

Not to beat the dead horse, but all of their fruit beers are great! Serendipity was a big hit with the women in my family.

They're all great, especially Raspberry Tart, Belgian Red, and Strawberry Rhubarb IMO. Strawberry Rhubarb also tends to be a little less sweet, if that's what you're looking for.

Also don't shy away from the New Glarus Thumbprint series (4 pack) fruit beers, I think that they're of roughly comparable quanlity

I recently got a Belgian Red, Raspberry Tart, and a Cran-bic in a trade. I haven't tried any yet but I cannot wait. They are waxed and I was wondering if there is any reason to age them.

I visit Wisconsin once a year and I am happy with any New Glarus beers that I find. I always stock up on Belgian Red, Raspberry Tart, and Serendipity. Then I purchase anything I haven't tried. You really can not make a bad choice.

From my experience you can expect to pay 6.99-7.99 for the 6 packs 8.99 for the 750ml and 9.99 for four packs

They are awesome but super sweet, just a heads up if your not a fan of sweeter style beers.

And I know the raspberry tart at least has like no alcohol in it.

My lady likes it though so I buy a bottle here and there and she drinks it out of a New Glarus champagne flute that we picked up. Fun changeup but definitely not an all the time beer.

4.0% abv so definitely lower end of the spectrum but certainly some there.

In my experience they don't seem to change almost at all with age. I have had a few years old Belgian Red and it tasted the same as fresh, so I'd say it won't hurt at all to age them but no real reason to either.

The only one I think is way too sweet is the Strawberry Rhubarb. Serendipity is nicely tart, as is Raspberry Tart. They are also both the perfect body, whereas SR is too syrupy IMO.
