    Anyone tried it yet?

Just snapped up a sixpack on a border-run -- what an outstanding Pilsner from a US micro.

On Dan's recommendation, picked up a six-pack. Not a fan of Pilsners, but this one is the best I've ever had.

Been loving pilsners lately. Glad to see this... I might have drank stag horn exclusively and overlooked this while it was available.

Just had my first tonight - loved it. I am on my 3rd now - it is sliding so nicely that I just might finish off the 6-er.

Hmmm... Just finished all of my Capital pilsners, may have to buy a couple of these.

I really like home town blonde. Need to clear out some room in the fridge, but once I do, I'll be buying some more.

I had a sample of it at the great taste. One of my favorite styles well done by my favorite brewery. I'll be drinking it by the bucket this fall.

I've really been enjoying this beer. Its not quite on the same level as the glorious Bohemian Pilsner that was done as an unplugged back in 08/09, but its getting there.

Great toasted / grainy pilsner malt character, a nice balanced bitterness, big herbal / earthy hop character, super clear fermentation, just about the perfect warm weather American pilsner.

Dan is convinced it won't sell that well, but as it is his favorite beer at the moment I've got a feeling we will be seeing it around in the future.

    Cheers!

Hometown Blonde is a fantastic German Pilsner! Honestly one of the first Pilsners that I have ever enjoyed drinking.

According to the NG web site it's a "old world" Bohemaina Pilsner. But I tend to agree, it has more German character to it -- and still delish. I hope it sells well for Dan, I'll be headed back for more.

its also listed as a german pilsner on this site. And dan learned how to brew in germany, so alot of his beer have that german influence to them.

The site also lists Two Women as a German Pilsener, and that beer is far from any sort of Pils (NG calls is a Country Beer, or Landbier -- in German vernacular). I can't fall back on the listings.

Maybe so, but the Unplugged Bohemian (see, I really can spell it when I type slower) Pilsner definitely hit the mark for that style. It tasted so much like the Pilsner Urquell I drank many years ago that I thought Dan had found a time machine.

Nit or pick on naming conventions, NG has hit the mark for a great Pils with Home Town.

    (sorry, trouble with HTML today...)

I liked it, but I didn't think it was near as good as the Bohemian Lager was from a few years back. Honestly, I like 2 Women Lager better as well, and Yokel too, but it is a very good beer. Seemed to get better the more I drank, the first few drinks I was kinda "meh", but by the end I had liked it.

Bohemian Lager was a phenomenal beer, sorely wish they would revisit that one.

Two Women when it was a 500ml was fantastic, in the 6 packs not so much.

I really like Hometown Blonde, next time I'm up in WI (or I have friends / family headed up that way), I'll be picking up more for sure.

    Cheers!

2 different beers, can't really compare them on a level playing field, but both good.

Again, different styles -- but isn't it great to have choices?

You have to take the style characteristics into account -- this is no in-your-face, high-octane, palate burner, just a nice drinker with great to-style chops.

I just compared them all because they are all New Glarus lagers and it was all my opinion on how much I liked them. No devious plot behind it or mal-wishes intended, just a statement of my opinions (still OK on the forum right?).

Yes, it's great to have choices and it's great to have New Glarus, a brewery of which I am a huge fan of their beers.

And I have had many a lager that blew me away the first few drinks, but this one had to kind of grow on me.
