I have searched all over for a possible recipe for this beer and haven't found anything definitive. I just drank my last one....sad day and getting them on the regular won't be easy(live in Michigan) so possibly brewing my own would hold me over....Atleast keep me content. Anybody have anything? Thanks James
I second that! Would love to brew a clone recipe of this one. So good and I'm in Iowa, so....yah. Not easy to get.
Yeah I have read quite a bit and New Glarus is really tight lipped....I have found a few recipes but they mention being close but either too bitter or flavor is "close"....
I agree that it us worth emulating this one -- I probably drink a case of it over the course of a given year, but I probably homebrew 2x as many pale ales. I never set out too emulate this specifically. It has very clean malts. My gut is to use a blend of Briess 2 row and pils malt, maybe a touch of carapils (NG likes to use WI malts, it seems). Add 5 different hops and a neutral yeast and you got it nailed! Seriously, look up a west coast pale ale recipe and then show some restraint, and I think you'll be happy. New Glarus doesn't like to provide a lot of hints to their recipes, but you should be able to come close if you just focus on the things you like about the beer. Maybe I am being naïve or just not overly discerning...
