I live in New Glarus and I had no idea it was happening (shame, shame...). Granted I was at work in Madion when I saw the Facebook posts start to pop-up. Luckily I have a buddy who works out there so I got to drink a bottle with him.

 

Na, nobody would believe that someone as attractive as me would actually live in WI

 

After I tasted VSB a few months back, I already put that date on my calendar for a day off. I figure I can afford to take one day off this summer just for my own personal interests. Can't think of a better one (mainly since New Glarus is so much closer to my house than St. Louis/Side Project).

 

So someone who lives 20 miles away in Illinois cant buy it but someone who lives 350 miles away in Superior Wisconsin is a preferred local.

 

I'm pretty sure they can't legally do something like that. It was a joke anyway.

 

if i'm not mistaken, at least for 2012 when i attended, this release was spread out between friday through sunday, right? the initial mornings of will be line heavy but shortly later it will be fine. (i followed the thread last year). Seems like each allocation for each day lasted into the early afternoon each day.

 

You are correct @ravot. I went on Sunday and was told it kicked by noon. Granted many were recovering from Great Taste.

 

Who's making the odds on a Fedoradingus sighting for this event?

 

If one person has two people muling for them thats two people who get shut out later on down the line and so on and so fourth. If that person wasn't selfish those people would have been able to get their bottles.

Longer lines more people all that is fine with me as long as everyone gets no more than their allotment. Though I suspect this year there will be more beer, it is NG after all they can produce quite a bit of beer, especially if its two different brews this time.

 

do you actually need a great taste ticket to attend this release?

 

This is exactly the kind of person I don't want to see there. We should figure out a way to switch his bottles with ones full of pbr and give them to people who aren't douche canoes. I'm sure he'll have like 3 or 4 people with him including his "not girlfriend".

We need to start putting signs up at special releases with his pic on it so they can turn him away. Seriously, he does this so much he's infamous on these boards for it! He deserves to be banned.

 

No the release is just always the same weekend as great taste. They release bottles in the morning until they run out of that days allotment. Its usually Fri-Sun.

Hmmm I only went on Saturday, and I am pretty sure the last number was handed out just as the doors were opening. If they released more after the initial wave I hadnt heard.

 

I showed up last year a little after noon on Saturday and strolled into the bottle shop and bought mine. I wasn't even aware there was a release that day. My brother in laws bachelor party started there. Some guys in our party bought the last few bottles around 1.

 

When is this new R&D release from New Glarus?

 

Yesterday.
