It was in all likelihood my last Midwest event for many, MANY years...probably ever. I've got to get away from this weather and such for a solid 5-10 years....I'm out to Cali at the end of September. Come visit, we won't have any water, but we should have some beer (more importantly.....LOTS of quality vegetation   :0  :grinning:   )

Last hurrah of the midwest will be getting my BCBS allocations shipped to me from a friend

Have to say....beer of the year.

Easily better than Fou Foune on tap at Northdown a few months ago.

New Glarus is such a beautiful, serene brewery. It's pretty sad and disgusting that people were littering and leaving empties everywhere. Littering is probably the biggest pet peeve of mine. I've literally stopped my car in the street and yelled at people I have seen littering. The world is not your dumpster.

On the other hand, when you know that your area is hosting one of the the biggest tastings in the country and in addition to that will be selling 4,500 bottles of an in-demand beer, you should be somewhat prepare to manage the pigs. I would hope that with around $40K in sales over three days (just from Wild Peach), they might hire some extra help and purchase extra trash cans.

People should be responsible and respectful regardless and it is still unacceptable, but the unfortunate truth is that there are just alot of lazy careless people out there. NG knew what they were getting into and should have expect to have to manage people from all walks of life- slobs included.

Either way- the beer sounds amazing and NG is a great place, so i hope everyone had a good time. Can't wait to get mine. Cheers!

I didn't see any littering when I was there today. Like, none. Maybe a dropped pretzel or two, but no left over bottles or wrappers. I even saw one group of people with some trash bags collecting the trash from the people around them. It may have been different yesterday, but people were behaving themselves today.

Awesome! Really glad to hear that. From some of these posts it sounded really sloppy yesterday.

That's exactly what I saw (not to mention a few ounces of spilled water and a couple of ice cubes). Not one piece of garbage.
Today i saw nothing but FIB plates so maybe it was the locals that did that yesterday? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah all FIB's. like the whole front row today closest to the Beer Cellar/Store. And Happily, I was one of em! Wisconsin IS the place for the best beers, and a close drive for me.

Yeah, I felt like the away team in my home state  @enelson @WCW It was nice to meet you guys as well as your friends. Thanks for sharing the bottles in line, the beer talk, and for a great time with some solid BA's. See you men tomorrow.
    Cheers!!

When did they sell out today? I'm not gonna go tomorrow but I'm wondering how crazy it was/will be compared to Friday.

10:30. I really expected today to be the worst day, but it seems like yesterday was worse than today. I guess I have no idea what tomorrow would be like.

It seems like maybe the "saturday/sunday will be bad so let's go early" people made Friday worse than it would have been.

I was fortunate to go today with a few friends. Woke up and left the house from the NW burbs of IL super early about 4:30am and made in line about 6:30am. When we got there there was about 200 ppl already in line (Ticket #210.) Everyone was really friendly, clean and picked up after themselves. Bottles and food were being passed around all morning until the line started moving.

My only suggestion is that you bring a chair to sit in unless you don't mind standing around for a few hours, a taster glass, and good conversation. I met some cool people from the BA's as well as some regulars we see at "Beer Release." The Great Taste of the Midwest was happening this weekend, so 2mrw could be a tad more rowdy than today, because you'll have to deal with all the drunks who stayed up all night and are going straight to NG.
