I was just at the brewery a half hour ago to take a peek. No one was there.

Ticket 550 at 9:40...there's been another 30-40 people after us I feel (might be a slight overestimate).

Saw lots of people going through the line multiple times by washing the mark off their hand

Saw that as well. Overall though it was a beautiful day and really a great event. Cheers to Dan and Deb.

750 @ approx 11am today. Very mellow. Went 2/3 days. Didn't personally witness any line abuse, heard of a couple. Very good release.

I think it's time breweries look into using a branding iron for these releases...

Don't underestimate the subset of release attendees who feel their entitlement to amass limited releases in quantity supersedes any allocation limits imposed by a brewery. Branding? Pfft, they'll just amputate that arm and get back in line.

True. I was offered $40 yesterday, in the biergarten, to cut off my wristband & go back out front to get another ticket for someone because Deb recognized him when he tried to do it.
I declined & sipped my Belgian Red

Decided to skip today because i needed to get some sleep and difnt want to stand in line at 7am again.. now, i realize i could have gotten more sleep had i stayed in town and went down to ng at 9:30... Mistakes were made. I am a sad man. Great weekend either way though, love new glarus! It was great seeing dan walking the line in his leiderhausen, haha.

I think I saw this guy out front when I was leaving. Deb was still handing out the last of the tickets (around 10:20) and He was arguing with her that he didn't get a ticket, even after she very politely told him that she remembered giving him one. He seemed to persist for a while, I felt bad for her. Then he was like, oh yeah I got a ticket, but it was for a friend. Not cool at all. I really hope they don't think the majority of the beer community is like that. Cheers to Deb and Dan for a wonderfully handled event!

No actually that's VSB the one and only saving grace for my beer cellar is you have to list beer that's at least 12 months old. It makes so you can't just go to the store and buy things to sell at a higher price you'd have to invest the money for one year.

I do agree the seller is only slightly less moronic than the person who bought it but you can be sure they are both jackasses.

Dan said he would just brew more beer. Maybe people won't be so eager to give anything they can to get it in that case.

A quick search of another site with less stringent rules shows NG Peach up for $300. Point still stands: $9 is clearly not the right price point for this bottle.

I respectfully disagree. And it was actually $8. When Dan & Deb set this price do you think they should determine it by trying to gauge what it will sell at on the secondary market? So if they increased the price to $20 how does that even still get close to $300? What is the price point you recommend given your $300 data point? And because one person is listing one bottle out of 4500 at $300 it's enough information for Dan & Deb to raise the price?

I applaud NG for selling these bottles @ $8. They could have easily sold this for $15 and would have sold out just as quickly. I'm willing to guess most other breweries would not have sold this at $8. NG is not out to gouge the customer and they price their product unbelievably fairly. I believe most people appreciate New Glarus' pricing just as much as they enjoy their beer and a lot of people enjoy their beer. We need more New Glaruses. They are to me (imo) THE benchmark brewery.
