Ok, right here - I was at Road America all weekend and unable to get to NG. A Co-Worker who lives in the area offered to mule for me, as he did for VSB. I know that on Friday, he got there too late. Not sure about Sat or Sun but if he got me 2, I'm keeping them. If he got me 4, 1 is going to a BA in NY and the other to a BA in CA. Not trades, just being sent. Yes, eventually they'll send something back (o idea what or when) but it's not about that. Did the same thing with VSB last fall.

Not everyone is looking to score whales, some people just want to share the beer.

Good job. Trying to figure out how I can get a taste of it since I was not around this weekend and didn't have anyone to grab me a bottle.

I am going to agree with a few others on this thread and just go off on how amazing this event was. I got to meet Deb and Dan who are incredibly humble people. I felt honored to be a guest at one of the most beautiful breweries I have ever seen, and they were very generous to allow people to have the freedom to roam the facility, and share beers freely. There were very few a-holes present, and many people were very respectful. This was one of the few releases I have ever been to where they were able to handle so many people in such an incredibly organized fashion. Like everything NG does, they put a lot of thought and effort into this event, and it showed. Absolutely a perfect event. It was also great to have the chance to meet so many awesome BA's.

    Other points worth mentioning:
    1. They had almost every beer in their current schedule available at the brewery.
    2. Staff was friendly and there were plenty of people to work the event.
    3. This is nothing new but the price point of all their beers is amazing.

It is no wonder why New Glarus has achieved such a high level of success. I hope to attend many future events to come.

You know what else is different about this thread?

The generalized positive praise of this release...

This may be the first release thread that had this vibe to it... It appears that other releases seem to leave everyone far from satisfied...

So his 2 on Saturday or Sunday are going to you. Or if he went both Sat & Sun his 4 are going to you. Nothing wrong with that. As was stated elsewhere in this thread or the other, Deb mentioned it was 2 per person per day. Now if he reentered on one of the days to get 4 in total, he skirted the rules and imo is contributing to what is wrong with limited release events. One can rationalize any which way they want, it's simply against the brewery's wishes.

Meh, there are plenty of people out there in lots of professions who have more money than time. Some have few expenses and this is their only hobby, but don't have a lot of time. Some are people who make the equivalent of $100-200/hour, so a $200 bottle is a bargain compared to 5 hours' travel time + time waiting in line. Waiting in line isn't their thing, because time in line is time they're not making money.

So, not too hard to imagine lots of people who would drop Benjamins on bottles.

On a side note, who's going to do the side-by-side of VSP and Fuzzy?

Was bourbon barrel kriek one? They have an entire facility dedicated to brewing these beers.

Woah, woah... There aren't too many people who understand economics on this site. Let's not get real world up in here, this is THE beer world. Life is fair on here, lol.

Exactly plus how do you look Dan and Deb in the eye, two of the nicest people the world has ever produced, and take advantage of them and the system. I would hope they would be racked with guilt but it's unlikely someone that petty has a heart.

I liked when Dan was asked about the hype for this beer in line he just said, "Eh, next year we'll just brew more." Thank you New Glarus, you are the best.

lol RI0 your first prediction didn't work out so well for you did it trying again already?

I'd be happy to share one with you if its ever feasible to do so but I doubt you'll have trouble finding a WI BA who will share one with you at some point.

I too was impressed with what they did to improve the process from Friday to Sunday. I didn't make it out on Saturday, but it was a difference between waiting almost 2 hours after they started selling bottles to get my allotment on Friday, to less than a half hour on Sunday. Granted, I was 705 vs 380 something, but still. The parking situation was also 100 times better on Sunday.

I ended up with six bottles total because I dragged my wife with me on Sunday. 2 are reserved for a friend who is not living in the states. If someone offered me hundreds of dollars for one of my remaining 4 bottles I'd be awfully tempted. I don't see it as taking advantage of the brewery, but I also didn't cheat lines, get extra bottles, or have anyone mule me any bottles. I may have made my wife to get up 3-4 hours earlier than wanted, but she will love this beer as much as anyone else.

I liked when some idiot was like oh no don't do that just don't tell anybody until the day before. personally I hope he brews so much traders have to give it away.

I'm sure if you offered to share a certain beer you just obtained, you could get someone to share one with you...

I emailed a coworker and offered up a couple of beers. Looks like he is good to trade a bottle.

Nobody that showed up before 9:00am on any day of the release left without bottles, so I really don't understand the butthurt over a few people getting a whopping two extra bottles. In what world can you show up at a highly anticipated beer release a half hour late, still score bottles, and then maybe get more on additional consecutive days? Guess you can't make everyone happy.

I think we are all very happy with new glarus and how they handled this release. People just arent happy with the A-holes that were cheating the system. Sure it was only an "extra two bottles" but after I got my bottles yesterday and was leaving I overheard a group of like 6 ppl talking about how noone was being honest on Fri so why should they be honest, and I heard another group talking about how they could get more tickets. So right there is one group of people getting an extra 12 bottles between them that could have gone to other people who showed up a bit later and missed out. My GF missed out on Friday by like 10/15 minutes, so had nobody double-dipped that day, there's a decent chance she would have gotten bottles. As many people have already said, New Glarus handled the release excellently, they tried improving the release day-to-day, and Deb (an Owner) was personally handing out tickets and trying to crack down on people getting multiple tickets. How can you try and cheat such a down-to-earth, friendly Host? thats pretty shitty of those people.
