No way in hell 750 people are all there in the morning. There was not even enough room for the 200 or so people last year on Friday morning. I'm banking on showing up after lunch Friday.

This. Even though the trading forum looks disgustingly crazy right now, 750 is a lot of people. And worst case there are still two more days.

I'm looking forward to it. I grew up in Wisconsin but spent the past 15 years (my drinkin' years) on the West Coast. Missed last year's release due to work obligations. This year, it's part of my bachelor "party". I'll get there early with a few friends & family, grab a # @ 8:30, head into town for some coffee, back up around 9:45. Grab my bottles and head into town for some other fun stuff.

No Great Taste for me, so getting to NG on Sat & Sun is the beer highlight. My dad likes to get up early, so we'll probably have a 7am breakfast in Madison and then head on down. That just sounds like fun to me.

Nothing else planned all weekend, although I think we'll end up at Dexter's for the TG takeover on Fri. night.

Not really sure what to expect. Headed to Sugar Maple down here on Thursday. Usually they are pretty chill, even for special releases. If SM is nuts on Thursday, I'll skip Dexter's on Friday for something more relaxed.

I never went out during beer week in San Diego. It was just too nuts. Always made for a nice, sober week.

Now that's what I'm talking about. And I won't have to wait around until 10pm to maybe get a 8oz pour of Mornin' Delight?

Headed to the Dells for the weekend with my family and stopping over Friday night in Madison. I was really hoping to hit Dexter's that night. Not asking for Nostradamus-like prediction, but I'd appreciate any insight into how crowded it gets. I wasn't thinking of being there late but shooting for between 5 and 7. Other recommendations would be great as well.

Dexters really needs to figure out a better solution for these things than turning their small bar area into a mosh pit.

In the Dells, don't miss out on Showboat Saloon. I wouldn't be surprised if they have TG on multiple taps (for growlers as well).

I might be way off in my prediction of being able to get bottles as long as you arrive by 10 am, but with 4,500 bottles being released, the trade value is going to be significantly less than VSB. If you look at the trades being posted, most want multiple bottles of Wild Peach for their single DDG, BA Abraxas, etc. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see what happens.

Because locals never embelish their arrival time to big releases to try and dillute the urgency.........

Yet there were 7200 bottles of DDG, that never hurt the trade value.

Yeah, but DDG is released in Southern California, where you can actually sell 7,200 bottles in a day. No shortage of demand there.

I think NG has a potential of selling out in three days, four days tops.

Well yeah....with an online reservation ahead of time with a limit of 6 bottles of DDG per person.

and this is not a solicitation for a trade, just a friendly question

You're aware that there will be just as much available on Saturday morning, and again on Sunday morning, right?

For bonus points with your fiance, you should leave this thread up on the screen where your noble sacrifice can be seen.
