Since he thinks New Glarus is overrated, a 4.5 is high praise for this beer. Which does not surprise me!

Blows my mind that I got a case for $58 after tax at Woodman's today. Considering I find it almost as good as RR Supplication, which is currently my favorite sour, I'm having a pretty good day.

You gotta try Consecration, my friend. Or Sanctification which is more sour than RR's big 3. Get the guy who traded you Supplication to hook you up with some! Or get Beatification and share it with me.

Damn right I liked it. Right in line with Rodenbach in my opinion

beautification is mind blowing. Its probably the best sour on our shores. Wait, thats off topic..........I hope they have some left at the brewery when I'm there in two weeks to drink and eat La Fortuna Pizza. Anyone else ever been there when that mobile brick oven pizza company is there, the pizzas are amazing, and that's coming out of my pizza snob mouth.

I tried a Consecration this weekend alongside a Wild Sour and didn't like it nearly as much. Consecration takes sooo much Cabernet flavor from the aging that it is a complete turn-off for me. When I drink a sour, I don't want the dominant flavor to be re-purposed from wine barrels and the NG Wild gives me exactly that. A tart, bright plum/cranberry flavor that is eminently drinkable. Dan is sick with it.

This was my comment on the thread at BA homepage Recent Beer talk but I guess that thread died out quickly while this one is still alive. Here's what I said:

"Was just at their brewery, their sour brown ale was sold out (thanks a lot FIBs). The worker at their shop told me there will be more Thursday. Wheww."

Don't get Sour Brown Ale confused with Wild Sour Ale. They are two different NG beers.

My mistake, should have said Wild Sour Ale.

+1 on that. The guy said they went through 2 pallets today.

Cheese Factor had some over the weekend but it was over $13 a 4 pack. I'm sure it can be found elsewhere but I don't know the area that well.

Just picked up a 4-pack from Woodman's in Waukesha and cracked a bottle. Needless to say, I will be going back for more - a lot more.

Yup. I learned very quickly you buy this beer in cases and not 4 pks. :grinning:
I wonder if this will be their best selling TP? Although I doubt many non BA's are into sours.

Woodman's in Kenosha is out already? Do we know if they're getting more, or am I going to have to drive my FIB self up to Milwaukee?

They could easily have it when you call them and sell out in the time it takes to drive there. The guy at the register last night said, "it's right over there, just look (dummy), I guarantee we have it." After asking him twice he finally went over himself to discover it was out. He even went in the back to check. He was shocked. Beerfinder is showing several places in Kenosha and a few in Bristol that should have it. Hopefully all the people who wanted 6 cases of it have gotten what they need and the rest of us will be able to find some soon.

    It's there now.
I bought some on Saturday. I called on Friday, and they had just gotten it in.
Unless people bought up every case, but they had a few. Still some Berliners, too!

(The new Sour is AMAZING, but I prefer the Berliner by a hair!)

Went looking for New Glarus Wild Sour tonight. Didn't see it. Did pick up a bottle of the 20th Anniversary Ale, though.
