New Glarus Thumbprint Imperial Weizen

    Anyone know the release date (or approximate)? This stuff looks good. A cascade dry hopped Hefe? Yes please!

    From the NG website : Do not waste time attempting to box this brew into some esoteric guide to styles. This is Dan's bold creation. His passion for unfiltered Weiss collides with Cascade Hops inventing our Imperial Hefe-Weizen. Dry hopping boldly rules over Wisconsin red wheat and our special strain of Bavarian yeast. At almost 20 O.P. this is the super mac daddy of Weiss beers. Decoction mashing was followed by excessive dry hopping to create a fierce onslaught of clove, cinnamon and citrus all in this living beer. Don't bother waiting to enjoy - the time is now.

    They have been on an "every other month" schedule for some time now, so I would expect it soon. I'd guess it will be on the shelves within the next two weeks.

    Dan Carey actually cites a different beer as the smaller version of Imperial Weizen -- here's what he told me a few weeks ago when I was mailing him here on the site and hoping for Crack'd Wheat to return....

    Last version was stunning. The hopping was first class,the combination wheat and hops exceeded expectations

    They have it at Riley's in Madison now. I went in and asked over lunch and they just got in that shipment today.. walked out with an unchilled 4 pack.

    Just had my first in almost two years.... AMAZING.... it is like a belgian crossed with a little sumpin sumpin crossed with a IPA crossed with dancing man wheat! Yes it is that complex.... Each sip is like a new beer.
