My parents are visiting Kenosha this weekend and living in TX, I am going to send them to Tenuta's. Other than the fruits what New Glarus beers are currently on shelves? I just want to have an idea so I can tell them what to get.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I just picked up Serendipity, Berliner Weisse and Belgian Red at the Kenosha Woodmans. So they have those for sure.

Yes, looks like all the Woodmans in Madison are now receiving TG. Saw Sue 4pks at Sun P. $8.49 along with 1492 this evening.

Anybody know if there is any fresh Scream around Madison or Milwaukee?

Anyone seen a newer batch of Berliner after 1065? I too thought that batch was not nearly as good as last year's (I think that's the first time I've ever said this about any beer! ). Was hoping for improvement in subsequent batches

I'm pretty sure even the Welcome to Wisconsin visitor information center sells it right when you get past the border.

If this is the wrong thread to post this in, someone please point me in the right direction....

Flying to Madison tomorrow and taking the rental car down to New Glarus. So I had these questions:

    1. What are the brewery prices of the 750ml RT, WBR, and Serendipity bottles? How about the 4 packs of Berliner Weisse and Scream? Anything else I'm missing in terms of good sours and IPA's to take home (New Glarus or otherwise local)?

    2. Would I be able to get the above beers at Woodman's East in Madison (cash only wtf), and would they be cheaper than at the brewery? And if so, by how much?

    3. Is there a current draft list for the tasting room? How much does a pint/sample size go for? Can you choose any sample you want, or are they arranged in sets? I see all kinds of conflicting info on BA, yelp, etc on this.

    Thanks guys!

I would hit up woodmans first. They take debit cards, you just can't run it as credit. The 750s are around 12.50 I think at the brewery and are probably $10 at woodman's. They should have just about everything available. Heck, I see the fruits at big displays in gas stations. If they happen to be out of something there then you can snag it at the brewery. The prices are a little higher at the brewery due to them not wanting to undercut distributors/retailers. It's going to be around $2-3 cheaper per bottle/four/six pack at any retailer.... especially woodman's.

I'm not sure what the draft list is currently or if they have it up somewhere, but from experience they have all their regulars, a fruit, and maybe one of the seasonals. I think the last time I was there it was spotted cow, moon man, scream, tart, and one or two others. You get to pick any 3 for the sampler.

Grab a pint or do the sampler... or both!... and take a walk and enjoy the brewery. It's the most laid back and enjoyable brewery I've been to.

Can't answer all your questions about prices, but a couple things: Woodman's east usually has the regular 750 ml fruit bottles, Scream, and Berliner. Woodman's will be cheaper than the brewery but I don't know by how much. The brewery does not sell beer cheap, this is on purpose so as to not undercut retailers. Also Woodmans takes debit card and checks.

Last time I was in tasting room a few weeks ago they only had 4 or 5 beers on tap. Belgian red, Totally naked, Two women, and Moon Man Spotted Cow?They have pints and flights of small pours, again I don't remember prices exactly but they were a tad higher than you'd expect. Like maybe 5 bucks a pint?

As far as other local IPAs I'd start with Ale Asylum: Bedlam and Velveteen Habit. Then maybe Karben 4 Fantasy Factory.

Thanks for all that great info guys. May also try to squeeze in Ale Asylum and Karbon4 during my visit.

And not to be greedy, but i seem to remember reading something about New Glarus handing out a free beer certificate to be used at local establishments? Do they still do that, and if so where/who do you ask?

For the gift certificate that's offered in the gift shop or tasting room, wherever they are pouring beers that day when you buy a pint or taster flight. Take your pick of bars to go to, my fav is Puempels. Just the classic tavern in every sense of the word.
I highly recommend Karben4, treat yourself to a Fantasy Factory!! Ale Asylum has some pretty killer pizza also!

Sugar River Pizza in New Glarus would be a great stop as well. Tasty pizza and they have a pretty damn good beer selection as well. They may also have some Toppling Goliath IPAs in if that'd interest you!

+1 on Sugar River. They also accept the little certificate you get from New Glarus when buying pints/flights.
