New guy in the Lehigh Valley

The Lehigh Valley has some nice beer spots! I don't have a lot to share in terms of fancy bottles but I could maybe bring something to a bottle share especially if you get one going in the future.

There are some really nice bars in the area too! Some of my favorites are the Trapp Door in Emmaus, PA, Tavern on Liberty in Allentown, Bethlehem and Allentown Brew Works and Black and Blue in Easton. Its not open yet but I'm kind of excited about Two Rivers Brewing Co. opening in Easton as well

As far as finding take out and distributors go the only two places to know are Abe's Cold Beer in Bethlehem and Shangy's in Emmaus. Their head and shoulders above anywhere else in the area.

West Side of Allentown right next to Muhlenberg college is Tavern on Liberty. Great beer bar and anything special that goes there lasts a little while.

 

Can't believe Woody's turned into Tavern on Liberty. When i was in college starting in 2000 Woody's had 1 beer on tap(bud heavy) and to go you could get 40's or cases of bud heavy or mike's hard. Can't believe i drank CBS there last year.

 

I'm from Allentown too....my schedule can be crazy, but a few of us get together and meet up from time to time. I'd love to get a beer with you sometime.

 

We have a beer tasting group that does semi organized tastings on the first thursday of the month at Strange Brew Tavern in Allentown, wich has a great tap selection.we have a FB page, Lehigh ValleyBeer Society, it's very casual and a really good, diverse group of beer lovers. At the bar, we stick to what they are pouring or have in bottles. We also do reserve tastings every few months where we break out, or purchase something more rare-pretty much like a bottle share. Come join us, the more the merrier! im also free to meet up sometime if you just want to grab a few good beers at a location.
