Anybody been yet? If so, how does it compare with the Poughkeepsie store. A check of the map says my house is equidistant between the two so it's now a toss-up which one I go to.

I was wondering the same thing. I've never been to the Poughkeepsie store. I think the new one is closer. In general, are these stores worth visiting or do they just have tons & tons of mediocre stuff?

I have stopped at the one in Poughkeepsie many times. The selection is OK and they get some good limited stuff.

Main thing about them is they are a little high on prices. Especially when they get limited releases.

The Pok one has gone downhill a bit selection wise but I am chalking it up to the expansion to Mamaroneck. Their prices are actually more than a little high in my opinion ($30 for BlackOps???). I've been weening myself away from them. But as noted they do get some good limited stuff and I'm betting they will step it up at the new site. Maybe I am just jaded since I am close to the Pok store but it isn't anything special (I'll spare you all the the Halftime vs. DeCicco's arguments since their is a forum for that).

I've been to the one in Mamaroneck, but not Poughkeepsie. Mamaroneck has 22 taps, which I think is the most in the area. Also, it consolidates my personal beer needs by having homebrew stuff on site.

One of the main benefits I see is that Half Time Mamaroneck will benefit from distribution that is in Poughkeepsie but not in Westchester/NYC. For example, lot of Great Lakes and Thirsty Dog in stock during the soft open. But, for now Half Time Mamaroneck is only half stocked, so its premature to judge what its ongoing inventory is will be.

The new store looks great, it is huge and a ton of growler fill selections with 22 taps.

That being said, they are still not fully stocked and said their "grand opening" will be sometime in January. Also the prices are on the high side compared to most in the area so it will just be another stop for me in stores I frequent but not the end-all it could have the potential to be.

Thanks to all for the info. Since it's not fully stocked yet, I'll wait for the trip. And yes, they are a little pricey for some stuff but as always, it pays to check dates.

Has anyone else gone since the start of this thread? I'm from Yonkers and I knew nothing about this until today when I clicked on the banner/advertisement.

I've been to the Poughkeepsie one. Even though I live far, I've been able to go when I've been in the area since I travel a lot for work. Its a bit pricey.

Interesting place. I stopped by for their "soft opening" late last year and was pretty mesmerized just by the size/scale of the place.

Initially, nothing on the shelves was priced which lead to a lot of "surprises" at the register. Single bottles were being rung up as entire cases, some items were ringing up as entirely different items and some things weren't even ringing up at all....even the Oerbier Reserva was ringing up as a lower price than the regular Oerbier. The growler station was just coming online, so I didn't really attempt to have anything filled. To their benefit, everything did seem quite organized, but that was probably due to the fact that a lot of the shelves were empty. I probably won't go back until they're fully stocked and everything is priced accordingly.

One thing to note is that they also have a lot of homebrewing supplies an a half-aisle of just glassware.... some really nice/uncommon glassware, at that.

Store is great. Walked in midday last week and one guy working the floor greeted me and gave me a tour of the store which is big, warehouse style layout, clean and well organized. As opposed to Total Wine staff these guys know beer...

Hey guys, my buddy is going home for the weekend and said this store is awesome and close to his house. Wondering if there is any chance to get Grimm, Finback, Tired Hands, Carton, Kane and any other greater NYC beer (specifically IPAs).

You won't find Kane there. Definitely not Tired Hands unless it's a collab bottle or something...(growlers are a no-no).

Right now, they do have some Finback on tap. Grimm was on last week or the week before. Pretty sure I've seen Carton on tap as well (but usually just stuff like Boat, Cowbell, Regular Coffee).

Best bet is to check their beermenus page to see what's on for growlers. They're good about updating.

Bottle selection otherwise is pretty good. Make sure to talk to the dudes that work there. There's usually a few "easter eggs" placed around the store...
