New Highland IPA

    It is a pretty solid West Coast IPA. It reminded me a lot of CBC's Hop Roar, except maybe a little cleaner and crisp-er (gotta try them side by side, I guess). After having only one pint of it, I wouldn't put it in the same tier as Pernicious, but I gotta take it over Hoppyum as far as widely-available year-round NC IPAs under $10 go. I anticipate this being my go-to grocery store beer in 2016.

    I totally agree. Very similar to Hop Roar, but I give the edge to Highland based on your two points. Both are great additions to the NC beer scene. It's promising to see two established breweries evolve their IPA offerings to better meet the needs/palates of the market.
