Hoping for some help here. I have a 1/6 barrel of New Holland DM. I'm trying to figure out the year of production. I acquired it in 2013 and assumed it was from the same year but can't figure out how to read the markings on this tag. Thoughts? I'm hoping someone can say with some level of confidence what year I have here. Thanks and cheers!

Just a guess, but I would be thinking 2010 by the label. Definitely could be wrong though.

The only sense of that label I can make is that it was either brewed or bottled (or I guess kegged in this case) in July 2010. The little notch on the bottom is fairly easy to see; the 10 between 9 and 11 is missing while none of the other numbers care, indicating it is intentional. In this case, "10" means "2010." The month part is a little trickier, partly because New Holland's logo (specifically, whatever animal is on the windmill) blots out the entire month of June. However, if you look carefully you can see some sort of marker line to the right of the animal, almost directly in the top middle of the label---right over July. So yeah, July 2010.

I'm not sure if the punched out 10 on the bottom would indicate the year, seeing as how it appears the numbers on the bottom count up to 31, which would lead me to believe that is the day of the month.. but it would be weird that they didn't write the year on it, so maybe they just change the style of the label year to year? maybe somebody on here might be able to differentiate it from other years?

There is no year on there. It's June or July 10th of some year.

Some breweries (such as NB) will stamp the kegging date somewhere on the 1/6th barrel
