Headed to Louisville for a very quick trip and was looking for off-the-fairway recommendations on whiskey. We're hitting up some regulars like Old Forester and Four Roses. Fletch, others, any suggestions you can PM me (don't want to clog the thread off-topic) would be appreciated. Distillery tours or places to find great bottles for sale. Cheers!

This thread is never exactly popping. I think the addition to this thread would be welcomed!

If we did that, nobody local would be able to get bourbon. And it's not like it's easy now.

Saw a store that had Blantons behind the counter and I said, Sweet! He was selling the set for $1300. I said, Bye!

Does anybody have any idea what the special bottled release is that West Sixth will be dropping on Halloween?

I saw it listed on the events on Lexbeerscene and I think they they said something on FB or on the monthly flyer they send out? Still no idea what it’s gonna be, maybe a Devil’s Food Snake Cake?

Lexington is in the middle of "cider days" right now. I figured I would give a shout out to Pivot Brewing in Lexington, KY. They mainly make cider, but their beer is pretty good too. Unlike a lot of cideries who buy apple juice, they actually press their own apples. Was there a couple weeks ago, the bartender said they just bought a canning machine and are just waiting on the graphic designers to finish making the labels before they start production. Watch out for these guys, and check them out if you get a chance.

Lexbeerscene is the only place I can find anything. Nothing on the monthly postcard or FB.

Also, don't bank on this even being an actual event/item. The person at LBS claims no memory of how this came to be on their page, lol.

I don’t remember exactly where I saw it I thought it was maybe in their monthly email. But I promise I’m not making this up.

I’m fairly certain you’re correct. I believe I also recall seeing it in one of their last emails. Might’ve been included with the announcement about Nulu.

W6 Halloween release is Snake Nuts, a PB stout. Does not appear to be BA.

Nate's Coffee drops today at Country Boy, and Coconut Monolith drops at Rock House. Regular in bottles, variants on tap.

Haven't been to Country Boy Georgetown (yet), but the one in Lexington is awesome. It's the original location, and from what I understand, they do most of their experimental batches there. They have the Living Proof series on draft and in bottles there.

Although now, CBB has stopped making sours, so when the Living Proof stuff is gone, that's it.

I've never heard about that. I love sours, but I think Country Boy has enough great stuff that it won't change my opinion of them. Shotgun Wedding is my favorite dark beer, no contest.
