Anyone check out the Sawtooth Nitro 6 packs, Wake Up Dead Nitro 4 packs, or Fade 2 Black Black Rye Ale? Definitely heading out to grab a sixer of the nitro Sawtooth, which I really enjoyed on tap when I tried it, but curious about the other 2, if they are also worth checking out.
On the same note, anybody know what the status of their 25th Anniversary "Throwback" beers is? I know two of them were old Tabernash beers - Eric Warner's dunkel and dunkelweizen.
I thought I heard that Bill had something to with it. But I think that was last week, which provides me with plausible deniability
I brought home the Nitro Wake Up Dead this weekend and loved it. That stuff is freakin' dangerous, though. On initial pour, it's every bit as creamy and chocolately as Nitro Milk Stout... but... at 10% alc. This stuff is gonna get some people in some deep trouble. Once it starts to warm a bit, though, the boozy notes come out and remind you what you are drinking. I'm gonna bring home the Sawtooth this week.
Grabbed a sixer of the Sawtooth Nitro on my way home today. Looking forward to checking it out. Might have to check out the Nitro Wake Up Dead next....still never tried the original (though did try the barrel aged....thought that was alright).
I had that once as well, and didn't find it nearly as terrible as a lot of people like to report. I would call it more an imperial brown ale (or maybe a baltic porter), but whatever, it was a decent beer.
Tried them all at the Left Hand "20 for 20" event on the top floor of the Grand Hyatt during GABF... really liked the WTD Nitro! Party was great too.
So wait... that was the Hyatt a few blocks from the Convention Center, right? We couldn't even figure out how to get upstairs. Tried the elevator to the top floor a couple of times, but just got a regular lobby. Then somebody said that the "party" was actually just a tap takeover in the hotel bar in the lobby. Once we saw that, we grumbled and left. How the heck did you access the real party? Was there a different set of elevators? Man, I feel like a dummy. Dammit... I really wanted to go to that. *sigh*
I'm loving the Sawtooth Nitro. It's as close to a cask feel as you can probably get from a bottle, which this style hugely benefits from. Great stuff!
