New Meantime/M&S beer

    Although they get several beers from Adnams, M & S souce there beers from many different breweries, including (in no particular order):

    Irish Stout - Carlow
    Lancashire Dark Mild - Thwaites
    Staffordshire IPA - Marston's
    Cambridgeshire Golden Ale - Oakham
    Cheshire Chocolate Porter - Robinsons
    Cheshire Brown Ale - Robinsons
    Yorkshire Best Bitter - Hambleton
    Lincolnshire Best Bitter -Batemans
    Belgian Cherry Wheat Beer - Huyghe
    Southwold Dark Ale - Adnams
    Southwold Winter Beer - Adnams
    Southwold Winter IPA - Adnams
    Southwold Summer IPA - Adnams
    Cornish IPA - St Austell
    Welsh Honey Beer - Conwy (Bottle conditioned)
    Scottish Ale - Cairngorm (Bottle conditioned)
    Yorkshire Bitter - Crompton (Bottle conditioned)
    Sussex Golden Ale - Hempworth
    Norfolk Bitter - Woodforde
    London Porter - Meantime
    Raspberry Wheat - Meantime
    Red Ale - Meantime

    M & S staff discount is only 20%.

    Yes. And there is absolutely no reason for it being in a corked 750ml bottle other than to charge an extortionate price for it. The price is even higher at their central London stores, £5.25.

    You obviously work for M&S or have a friend in the firm like myself! Haven't had him get me anything for a year or two - 25% was a top of my head guess.

    Bollocks to it then, if it's only a poxy 20% I won't bother!

    Actually neither of those options, my mum used to work for them, still get the discount though.

    Best is when they do a £5 off £25 coupon. With 6 for 5 beers, staff discount and then the coupon I was paying £1.22 for a £2.29 beer.

    Yeah I know that, I didn't mean Adnams made all their beers.

    Think my instincts were right in not spending the penny less a fiver for that beer. The only Meantime beer I really have much more affection for is their 7.5% ABV IPA.
